  1. An absolutely gorgeous and delightful series of photos, Diane! It is rainy here today as well, in Montreal, and supposed to be rainy again tomorrow. We did have a couple of sunny, beautiful and mild days, and I took some long walks on those days. I get a kick out of the circle on the Waterbuck's backside. And I have never seen a black-backed Jackal before. Gorgeous and fascinating animals, Diane, and your last photo needs a frame! Perfect ending.

    1. Thanks Linda for all your kind comments. African sunsets really are amazing and although we get good ones here somehow they are just not the same. If the forecast is right there may be more photos from Africa to come!! Keep well and dry. Diane

  2. On two separate occasions I thought of going to Botswana and elected to go somewhere else. Perhaps I should have opted for Bitswana!

    1. David if the chance ever comes up again take it. Botswana to me was the most beautiful part of Africa I have been to and I have travelled from the North coast to the South. We were unlucky to have had early, and heavy rains before we arrived, which made viewing of wildlife difficult as the grass had grown rapidly. I loved the people of Botswana, so friendly and knowledgeable which also made a huge difference to our trip. Of course if you get that far you need to see Victoria Falls as well, but then you need to have had some rain or they are not at their best so timing is not so easy. I loved the Congo as well in the 50's but how safe that is in this day and age is another story. Keep well Diane

  4. Oh gee, what gorgeous photos and subjects, Diane!
The Water buck is a fantastic and elegant antelope, the grass hopper is stunning, they are part of the species invading african areas in large numbers some years.
The rhinos are very impressive, I saw similar ones at Hluhluwe and Umfolozi preserves years ago.
    But the sunset.... WOW, fabulous!!!
Keep well and enjoy the new week :)

  7. Some of these animals I know, some I do not. Too cool to see animals from other areas that I normally don't get to see. Thank you for sharing.

    1. Kim you must take a trip there, next to Rhodesia (as it was!), I think Botswana is one of the most beautiful places in Africa, and the Tswana people are friendly and helpful. We loved every minute of our trip there. Diane
