Ah, "Chokos", in Australia also they grow like weeds along fences & hitching a ride on any other strong plants ( Like the ones coming from next door on the azalea bushes ).My mother-in-law tried to convince me many years ago that they can be palatable in all sorts of ways, sadly without any success! They were very popular during the depression, as very plentiful and nutritious ( high content of Vitamin C ).
ReplyDeleteWas the picture of the railway crossing taken in Ruelle?
Good to hear from you. They have so many different names but I have to say I quite like them as you can flavour them with almost anything as they have little taste as such. I used to cook them up and mix them with the dogs food in S.A.as we had so many of them. I have tried to grow them here but they do not bear fruit!
DeleteYes, it is in Ruelle sur Touvre, well done, I have just changed the river name as it is of course the Touvre which runs into the Charente.
Hope you had a good Christmas, all the best for 2015 Diane
Loving the cold temperature photos…..Driving in rain stinks but is wonderful when you are home reading a good book.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
