  1. Beautiful pictures thank you. I now cannot wait to come down, even if there is a lot of work to do.

    1. Thanks Ann, there is always work to do. When you have finished it all it is nearly time to start again! Our paint on the shutters and the gate have lasted 10 years so we cannot complain :-) Safe trip over, Diane

  2. Great Macro shots of the butterfly. Do you use a tripod? The hinges look neat. Maintaining a house is a full time job. There is always something.

    1. Diane I struggle to keep up with the butterflies holding the camera in my hand, I would have no chance with a tripod. Also it was very windy and I could not keep anything in focus for more than a split second. I only use my tripod on very rare occasions. Maintaining a 200 + year old house is never ending, a new build is simple by comparison. The heat is climbing again and I cannot work outside with this humidity and heat. The rest of the hinges will have to wait....... Keep well t'other Diane

  3. That swallowtail is wonderful - well captured! I like the green Nigel is using. I don't remember, are you using French paint - dare you? We found French paint to be a bit like milk!

    1. Craig it is the same paint, and colour, that we used before and it has lasted 10 years and is still not too bad. Tikkurila paint from Finland. Expensive but worth it in the end. Diane
