DeleteThese ploughing matches are held all over North America too. I guess there is always nostalgia for the past. But where I live there is a large community of Mennonites who eschew electricity, motorized conveyances and other aspects of modern life and always work their fields with teams of horses, so we get so see it on a regular basis.
