Doniene I only know them as Broad Beans but having looked them up - Vicia faba, also known as the broad bean, fava bean, faba bean, field bean, bell bean, English bean, horse bean, Windsor bean, pigeon bean and tic bean. Here in France they are called Fèves. Hope this helps. We grow them every year and generally get a good crop that we can freeze for the remainder of the year. Have a good day Diane

  3. Wow, Diane, so beautiful and magnificent! We had freezing rain and snow here in Montreal today (a mixed bag). I love the snow but not the freezing rain. Thank you so much for this refreshing and lovely moment!

    1. Broad Beans and garlic both kick off well with frosts so this is the time we always plant them. Thanks for the New Year wishes, lets hope 2017 will be a good one. Diane
