24/05/2017 Visit to the Dentist, lawn cut and edges trimmed. Gardening. Sorting photos from our trip away last week

Maximum temperature 26C, minimum 12C.  16 km/h NE wind with 22 km/h gusts.   Dry though heavy dew.
Two different bees for the price of one :-)

A rare back view!

Hummingbird Hawkmoth (Macroglossum stellatarum)

as above

Not the best photo, but for the record, the first Green Lizard (Lacerta viridis) photographed this year.

Last week in Pons on our way to Talmont-sur-Gironde. The old city wall with the chateau on the left and the Donjon from the castle on the right.

Walking the circuit.

The dungeon and the chateau from another view.

A little of the history of Pons.

  1. Your photos are marvelous Diane. The macro shots of the bees, hummingbird moth and the lizard are fantastic. I also enjoyed the lovely views of the old city. Thank you for sharing them. I would like to make another trip to France one day. I loved Normandy when we were there two years ago.

    1. Denise it would be great if you made a trip to France. It is a beautiful country and just so much to see. Is there a young town/city in France? I doubt it. Thanks for the kind comment, Diane

    1. Thank you Richard, I love the hummingbird hawkmoths and they are quite a challenge to take good photos of :-) The green lizard was walking across our veranda this morning so I am hoping I got some better photos. You have a good weekend also, cheers Diane

    1. The lizard is still around today and the hawkmoths are busy in the sage. The Lizard is under the sage waiting for a meal so the moths must keep their distance. I note it ignores the large carpenter bees!
You and Joan have to plan a trip when she manages to get her lawyer sorted out :-) Hope all is well Diane
