08/07/2017 A brief visit around the garden, going out later.

Maximum temperature 25C, minimum 10C.  22 km/h SW wind, 26 km/h gusts.  Dry so far but storms expected tonight.
Check out that hair style :-) Great tit ( Parus major)

House sparrows (Passer domesticus) and Blue Tit (Cyanistes caeruleus).  You realise when they are together just how small the Blue Tit is!

Paddling but not being very brave LOL.

Rose, spot the ladybird on the bud and the hoverfly..

and a little closer...

as above.

Speckled Wood.

The chafer again eating our flowers!!

The potatoes are just coming into flower. Spot the unknown beetle.

Dianthus.

Lavender.

and medlar, the only fruit in the garden that survives what ever the weather does!!!
Its a hassle, but wow it makes great medlar jelly.

  3. Such adorable pics of the birds taking a bath! I love it. I have the creek that runs right next to the house that the birds play in but I can't see them from the deck. I need to put a small birdbath out like this for them to play in where I can watch.
