Lovely to see these very familiar bird again trhough your lens!
You were right to alert me, much appreciated!!
We had the Coucal in our garden, the doves had no chance at raising a clutch!!!
And the Bateleur reminds of our friend Lorna who had over 60 species of birds of prey and raised a Black eagle from the Magaliesberg we had brought her!!
great stuff and great memories flowing back!
Thanks Dianne :)
Keep well
Noushka every photo I download, and I am nearly there now, I just want to go back and take some more photos. Such beautiful birds. I have 85 different bird species that I photographed while there and which I have identified. I can never compete with your magnificent photos, but I am pretty happy with what my Nikon D3200 has produced for me. Thanks for the great comment and so glad it brought back some good memories for you. Warm hugs Diane
DeleteOH MY WORD, Diane! These photos are spectacular! Did you take these when you were in SA earlier this year? They are magnificent. Thanks for sharing and thank you too, for always visiting my blog. Have a great day. Jo
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Jo. Yes all photos taken while we were there in February. We were lucky we covered a huge area in a short time. We drove with friends up through Botswana as far as the Vic falls. Then we drove back down to the South coast, then up to P'maritzburg, and friends took us all through the reserves in Kwa-Zulu Natal. Amazing trip with amazing friends who we miss so much. Have a good week Diane
DeleteWhat glorious captures, Diane! So lovely to see all the beautiful birds and animals! Thank you so much for sharing.

DeleteWow...great shots. Loving the unusual animals. Thank you for sharing where you have lived, when I think of Africa I think of wild animals, I do know there is more than that, but that is where my mind goes....Me, I have lived in Calif. Ky and Tn. Not near as interesting as your home places.
ReplyDeletePam I have had an interesting life with very adventurous parents. We drove from England in 1953, through France to Algiers in Northern Africa, and then we drove the length of Africa To Rhodesia. Another of my blogs!! Take care Diane
DeleteOh my! Every one a 'wish I'd taken that' shot! Incroyable images Diane, love them all but you have no idea how long I've been hoping to catch an owl!
ReplyDeleteP.s. we do have tits in Australia but I think they are shrike tits.
We have a Little Owl around here at home and it calling constantly from one place or another but I cannot get any photos of it!!!! Very annoying as it is hunting during the day time as well!! I think that painting you have is an European Great Tit! Thanks for the kind comment Diane
