Watching France see the New Year in on TV at Chantilly last night.
A bit of Christmas cheer amongst the potplants.
Friends who could not travel to the UK at the last minute, because of COVID, joined us for Christmas dinner so the table was laid for four.

Hi Diane - these are wonderful to see ... so pleased your friends could join you ... it was 16 deg C here - and was 'warm' out ... but we had blue skies and some sun - a great change ... mind you it's raining now!!

ReplyDeleteThanks Richard. It was a good Christmas the best in some years. Extra work for me but it was worth it to have good company. You both keep safe also. Cheers Diane
DeleteI am sure you were very happy to be joined by friends, Diane. Let's all look forward to finally getting rid of COVID in 2022, or at least learning to live with it. After all, no pandemic lasts forever. Best wishes from Miriam and me. David
ReplyDeleteI guess you are right no pandemic lasts for ever but this one has been soul destroying. I want to have a break from the house other than the 3 days that we have managed this year. Thanks goodness for the garden or I think I would have gone off my rocker (more than I already am). Take care you two and enjoy your walks, so wish I had a group like yours around here. All the very best Diane
DeleteThat does look very festive. They cancelled fireworks here at the last minute to discourage crowds from gathering.
ReplyDeleteThe fireworks were held at Chantilly far North of Paris, so far as I understand there were no crowds at what was an undisclosed destination and it was only viewed on TV. The combination of the laser light show and a few fireworks was stunning. Cheers Diane
DeleteYes, that added bit of technology can really make the display special.
DeleteLove your pretty, festive table, Diane. Happy New Year.
