The maximum temperature here today is 4⁰C, minimum -3⁰C. It is now raining as I type this so the ice will soon disappear. North-Easterly winds of 15km/h with gusts up to 39 km/h.
November Sunset.
La Rochefoucauld chateau.
La Rochefoucauld Convent.
Some info on the convent.
Out to lunch at la Bonnieure.
Out walking I spotted what I think is a Common buzzard. With the naked eye, I was not even sure it was a bird it was so far and I only had the little Nikon Coolpix S7000 with me.
A calf watching me closely.
This one was too hungry to worry about me walking by.
Unusual equine markings...
Its friend keeping an eye on me.
Even the sheep were fascinated by this walking human.
The last of November with an unusual sky, taken at 16h30 in the afternoon.
P.S. we have been warned that there is a major problem with the internet in our area. It might take a week to 10 days to sort it out. If you should leave a message and I do not clear it immediately please be patient I will get it done ASAP 13/12/22
My local list
of wildflowers. (91
Species 13/12/2022).
The farm animals are curious by the look of them. It is as colder there than I remember seeing before. The animals are well clad for the cold though.
ReplyDeleteIt generally gets cold December here through until April. There is snow around but so far there has been none here!. Keep warm, Diane
DeleteGosh..those photos are so beautiful. I really adore the amazing sunset and dramatic late afternoon sky. That's a mouthwatering lunch!
ReplyDeleteThanks Angie for the kind comment. The food was delicious and so beautifully presented. Cheers Diane
DeleteHi Diane - as usual you've made me green with envy at your lunch! Very unfair! Ah well such is life ... I love the photos and did that sky portend anything unusual ... while the chateau is impressive ... you live in a lovely part of France - cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteSorry Hilary wish I could take you there for a meal. I just love that chateau and we see it almost every time we go out. I never tire of looking, and when we have visitors taking them around inside. Keep safe cheers Diane
DeleteI can see that you are a big attraction, Diane. Everything stops to pay attention when you walk by! Your lunch looks so artistically arranged it seems almost a shame to eat it! But I am sure you did and I hope it was delicious. Take good care. Best wishes to Nigel. Bonne journée. Bisous - David
ReplyDeleteDavid the presentation on their meals always makes me hesitate to mess up the artists work, but my taste buds get the better of me! Bonne semaine. Bisous Diane
DeleteThe cow and calf are cute. The 4°C max and dark at 4:30 are the things I most dislike about Europe but the fabulous historic buildings are a great draw card.
ReplyDeleteDiane I love the buildings here, each and every one has something special, but this really is on of my favourites, inside and out. How I hate winter and the short days and I do feel the cold so much. Cheers t'other Diane
DeleteA beautiful collection of your last of November. The first and last photos are fantastic, and I wouldn't have minded being there at that lunch with you. You live in a lovely area.
ReplyDeleteThanks Yvonne it really is a beautiful part of France. We are very lucky to be here. Cheers Diane
DeleteThat sunset is gorgeous! I wish I could explore the La Rochefoucauld chateau.
ReplyDeleteDid you follow the link to the chateau it shows some of the inside as well ? It is an very interesting place with an incredible history. Cheers Diane
DeleteI find myself quite envious of your wonderful images of your local skies, and even more envious of the cuisine that you have available to you in that region, Diane. However, I don't know what was in that large bowl on the left of the images of you lunch, but that particular item doesn't look too appetising to me!
ReplyDeleteSorry for the late visit and brief comment. Trying to find time to visit blogs is not easy at the moment - actually, it's not so much finding the time but being in the right state of mind to write constructively. We'll get there !
Best wishes to you and Nigel - - - Richard
Ha, the dish on the left was a very nice pâté, I am sure you would have enjoyed it. I am surprised that you can be in any state of mind to follow blogs at present. Just take one day at a time and look after Lindsay, we will all still be here when you get back to normal, I hope though all will improve quickly. Take care, Diane
DeleteWat een aparte lucht om t zien
