14/03/2016 Car cleaned this morning and the grass edges and long grass tidied up. We went for a drive this afternoon, for a change the weather was pretty good.

Maximum temperature 16C, minimum 0C.  24 km/h NE wind.
La Rochefoucauld Château.

Diesel has gone up to €1 a litre!

Saint Angeau - 12th century Church, St Michaela's  is a listed historic monument....

The doors were closed, but there was a stable door at the side with an open top and I thought the floor tiles were interesting.

as above.

A closer view of the well.

The Mairie - St Angeau....

The war memorial...

A small hotel which appears to be closed....

I just liked the features on this house...

The butcher, closed while we were there but the van was parked outside.

Flooding along the route.

A drive by shot of a horse being trained.

More of my pet hate - wind turbines.

Back home sunset over our neighbours house.

    1. Thanks so much Doniene, I also love the old buildings, pity restoration is so expensive and the youngsters of today cannot afford to do it. A lot of horrible plain houses are going up outside the old villages! Keep well. Diane

  4. See these fine old buildings I always wonder if they're still occupied or open for business.

    1. Many of them are lived in Gaelyn, but once the older generation die, the children either cannot afford to restore or they want to live in a town where there is a lot going on. As we live in farming country we mostly have the old houses (and the old people) around us. Another 50 years and things may be very different. Sad but so many new houses are going up that do not look French! Diane

  5. That church looks as old as the earth. Wind turbines are better than coal mines.

    1. Very old church Diane. Anything is better than coal, but what about the massive bird loss?????

With poachers, hunters and machinery the youngsters of tomorrow will not know what a wild animal is! T'other Diane

  6. Makes me realise the fuel is still cheaper here than in many places - which given the size of the place is no bad thing I suppose.

    1. I realise that David, and the UK is much dearer than us.... It has always been cheaper in America and Canada as they have not got the high fuel duty and VAT we have. Diane
