01/04/2016 No April Fool's here but I did go for a walk.

Maximum temperature 14C, minimum 0C.  51 km/h N winds.  13 mm rain measured this morning.
Wild bluebells.

Cattle, possibly Charolais in the distance.

Cowslips.

Greater Stitchwort

Pony.

Then in the middle of nowhere, I came across what is obviously a private burial vault...

the cross outside...

the entrance with an unlocked door...

The small altar...

There were two upright tombs...

and four other tombs

the writing from the above upright tomb.

I took many more photos of a more cheerful nature, which I will put on tomorrow, but I thought this vault was certainly worth a mention.

  1. Almost 200 years old and still in marvelous shape. Looks like someone must take care of the place. Interesting discovery.

    1. Gaelyn there are a lot of creepers growing through gaps and it is quite dusty in there, but yes I am sure someone is keeping an aye on it. The grass was cut and the door looked fairly new though no catch on it. Have a good day Diane
