Maximum temperature 18C, minimum 8C. 20 km/h SW winds. 6mm rain measured this morning.
Travelling to the Dordogne through villages...
and forests.
After a fabulous lunch we went to the local dam for a walk, not many people there and it was raining lightly.
There are a number of legends around the dam...
concerning devils and stories of Richard the Lion Heart.
A reminder to keep an eye open for the devil!
I only had the little Samsung camera, but these are still sort of recognisable as Mallards.
Not sure about this - the devil maybe?
A Pied wagtail on the weir.
Looking across the dam....
Can you see the little red building at the end of the dam, the men were waiting for us there.
Wendy hauling us across the dam on the ferry. It works so well and was remarkably easy.
Walking back I was fascinated by this fallen tree with green leaves shooting.
A great day out to be sure. Looks like a little light rain didn't dampen your enjoyment of the day.
ReplyDeleteThe rain was not a problem and we enjoyed the walk :-) Diane
DeleteDordogne is a natural beauty and peaceful place. So nice to take a walk and maybe rest in one of those resting chairs. Of course to watch out for the devil but relax enough to enjoy the ducks swimming in the water.
ReplyDeleteHa ha I kept an eye out for the devil but all was calm. I was sorry that I had not taken my Nikon camera but I do not like carrying it in the rain. Have a good day Diane
DeleteIntersting. I love all your photographs. They are so nice and sharp. The Wagtail is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteO ja, thank you so much for the postcard. I'll writing about it next week, yes?
Best Wishes!
Thanks Ralph for the comment. Glad the PC arrived. We will be away next week, but I will catch up when we return. Have a good week. Diane
