18/05/2016 Busy in the garden.

Maximum temperature  18C, minimum  6C.  32 km/h  SW winds. 5mm rain measured this morning.
Azalea.

Bee on the Choisya ternata,  note the pollen basket on is leg.

Californian poppies.

Peony.

Iris.

Bumble bee with a good pollen collection.

I think this may a dog rose.  It was in the cotoneaster shrub when we bought here 11 years ago.  It is a very vigorous plant and gets cut back to ground level each year.

Carrots and parsnips growing well.

Pumpkin and squash planted today. Rhubarb behind and broad beans on the right.
