30/09/2021 A few bugs and reptiles from the garden....

 The maximum temperature here today is 19⁰C, minimum 8⁰C. Rain is due from tomorrow forecast for a whole week!. Wind 9km/h icy South-Easterly winds with gusts up to 16 km/h!
 
I have so many photos for September and I have had no time to go through them all.  Here are just a few so that you know I am still in existence!!

Common Wall Lizard (Podarcis Muralis).

Gatekeeper butterfly (Pyronia tithonus)...

Great Banded Furrow Bee (Halictus scabiosae) I think


Wasp (Scolia hirta).

Common Heath, a moth of the family Geometridae.(Ematurga atomaria).

Small White (Pieris rapae) better known as a Cabbage White...

As above.

A pretty battered but happy Silver-washed Fritillary (Argynnis paphia)...

As above...

As above.

European Peacock Butterly (Aglais io)...

As above.

Common blue butterfly - male (Polyommatus icarus)...

As above.

Common blue butterfly - female (Polyommatus icarus)...

As above...

As above.

Western honey bee or European honey bee (Apis mellifera).

Not sure which bee this is, the flower is Sedum but which variety I do not know!

Common Wall Lizard (Podarcis Muralis).

Carpenter bees, (Xylocopa violacea) or (Xylocopa valga), very similar...

Map butterfly (Araschnia levana)...

As above.

21/06/2021 The last of the photos waiting from May!

 The maximum temperature here today 23⁰C, minimum 13⁰C.  Lots of rain over the past week - 79 mm.  Wind 14km/h  North Westerly winds with gusts up to 40 km/h.    More rain forecast.

Love in a Mist (Nigella damascena).  Californian poppies in the background.

Hoverfly next to the Rhododendron flower.

Dog roses (Rosa canina).  They are wild here, but we have them growing vigorously in one of the cotoneaster shrubs

Viola (Violaceae family).

Chafer beetle (Oxythyrea funesta).

Common Wall Lizards (Podarcis Muralis)... spot that new tail!

As above.  She looks like she might well be pregnant!

Black vine weevil (Otiorhynchus sulcatus). I think, or Dark Vader from outer space.

I was about to throw these roses out that were in a vase in the house, (they had survived 2 weeks so they had done very well), and then I spotted an intruder.
Eurasian Running Crab Spider (Philodromus dispar)...

Rose plus longhorn beetle...

Longhorn beetle possibly a male (Stenocorus cursor).

Western Honey Bee (Apis mellifera).

Shield Bug (Graphosoma Italicum)...

Small tortoiseshell (Aglais urticae).

As above.

Potatoes growing well.

and a climbing rose.
