28/07/2016 A drive past Cognac to La Rochelle and back. All photos taken from a moving car.

Maximum temperature 26C, minimum 14C.  17 kph NW winds.   Light rain not measured yet.
Major obstruction on the road but a job that needs doing.

Maize, sunflowers and grapes all in the distance.

Vineyards of Cognac

Grapes as far as the eye can see in every direction.

Tolls on the road.

Saw this lotus parked but then....

filling up with fuel; look what was parked in front of us.  Anyone who has been following me for long knows that we are big Porsche fans.

Plane trees are a common sight in France.

Ghost signs.

I have taken photos of this 'dragon' before on a centre island in the road, but here he is again!

  1. I remember well the toll charges in both France and Spain. At one point I thought I might have to take out a second mortgage to pay for them!!

    1. This one was OK, only 4€ each way, when we drive back from the UK it is quite another matter!! Even more fun in Portugal where many of the tolls only have transponders and then you get on one by mistake!!! You hope the cameras don't work! Keep well Diane

  3. Beautiful fields with rows of grape vines. The toll looks so different from ours. Beautiful and expensive cars.
