31/06/2016 Coma and a Gatekeeper butterflies.

Maximum temperature 26C, minimum 12C.  23 kph NE winds.   Dry.  
Gatekeeper Butterfly - Pyronia tithonus I think.

Coma Butterfly, or in France Robert-le-diable.
Polygonia c-album 

The wings  have jagged edges and show a clear white C-shaped mark on the underside of the hind-wing.

    1. Thanks David, the lavender attracts all insects and we have quite a few plants, but this year we seem to be very low on numbers with butterflies! Diane
