21/04/2017 Just a few photos from the garden.

Maximum temperature 18C, minimum -2C. 17 kmh NE wind with 23 kmh gusts.  Much improved weather and by this afternoon it was really quite pleasant.  Dry.
Bee on the choisya ternata.

Californian poppy.

Greenfly on the red robin.

Bearded iris.

Spring is in the air - crane flies I think.

Longhorn beetle on the red robin...

as above

Quince blossom.

I think this is a robber fly also on the red robin.

as above.

The broad beans are looking good.

  6. Wonderful photos. I got your blog address from Hilary's blog. I live in Durban South Africa and have done since October 1966 when my parents left England for a better life, I was 3 years old. We visited Rhodesia in 1973 and I still have vague memories of Wanki(?) Game Reserve and Kariba Dam.

    1. Thanks Kim for looking in. I lived in Rhodesia for 25 years then South Africa, mainly Jhb, for another 25 years. I have another blog with my story of Rhodesia. We have just returned from a 5 week holiday in RSA and drove right past Durban, we loved every moment of our trip from Botswana to Natal. Wankie now Hwange (!) was a marvellous game reserve but I have no idea how good it is now!Have a great weekend Diane
