Our friend Jean who appears to have made a great recovery from lung cancer having had one lung removed.
First of all I am glad for your friend that he is making a great recovery. Wonderful for everyone. Loved the photos Diane, the scenes around the town, the flowers, and that food. Delicious looking!
ReplyDeleteThanks Denise it was a good meal with great company. Our friend is doing well, long may it carry on that way. Diane
Deletewow...what a really cool building for a local church. Very, very neat. And the food....yummy.
ReplyDeleteThe church is very old Pam. The church Saint-Maixent was built in the eleventh and 12th centuries. The first stone was laid in the year 1080. Keep well Diane
DeleteSome great photo's, Diane. And, it looks like a great time! I don't know what sanglier is though. I'm a little dense you know. :)

Sally if had read the second line from the top you would have known! I wrote wild boar (sanglier) are a real pest to the crops in France. Take care and hope you are feeling better Diane
DeleteJean looks like a very nice man, Diane, and I am very happy he has recovered from the cancer. The bread, cheese and salad, and the meat, all look delicious! And I love that church building!
ReplyDeleteLinda he is the perfect gentleman and does speak a very little English to help me out :-) Same as I printed above for Pam - The church Saint-Maixent was built in the eleventh and 12th centuries. The first stone was laid in the year 1080. It has lots of history attached to it. Keep well Diane
DeleteYes, I am sure those animals are dangerous, also. There is a need to cull their numbers.
ReplyDeleteOne always asks, what does it taste like? -smile- Perhaps, something like pork? But of course, each meat tastes like IT TASTES!
Gentle Monday hugs,
Luna Crone
I agree Luna I would not want to have an argument with a wild boar, they have extremely sharp teeth!!! They taste very similar to pork but have a lot more gamey and interesting flavour. Have a great day Diane
DeleteWell if the wild boar are a problem, why not eat them. It all looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteI have to say they are very good eating :-) Diane
