18/07/2007 I cut the grass and Nigel the edges, so the garden is looking much better today!

Maximum temperature 33C, minimum 18C.   26 km/h SE winds with 50 km/h gusts.  Dry.
Last night's sunset, not the most spectacular but quite pretty.

Echeveria flower.

The rose bush is still flowering.

Calendula.

Pink Zinnia...

and yellow, but a different type without the curled petals

This stargazer was a present from one of our French neighbours many years ago. it flowers religiously every year.

Gatekeeper butterfly  (Pyronia tithonus)

Syromastes rhombeus (I think)

Graphosoma lineatum.

Possibly as simple as a Green Shield Bug!!

Our first ripe tomatoes.

The same 'little' pumpkin I showed you several days ago... and still growing!

Fresh from the garden today; yum yum.

    1. Denise it is so good to be able to go and collect fresh vegetables for each meal and the garden is looking pretty healthy at present. There are always insects around, some harmful and some the good guys, apart from the chafer grubs which we always kill as they do so much damage, most creatures survive well here. Have a good day Diane

Thank you so much for the sweet comment on my blog about being creative. You know I am 57 yrs old and did not realize I could paint until I was 42! HAHA...Surprise to me!

    1. It is the first time I have grown the white pumpkins - South African seed. I have masses of Echeveria and I generally only get one flower a year, but I see there is a second one this year :-) I love painting but time is never on my side and I also have to be in the right mood. The two do not often go together!! Enjoy when you can it is fun. Hope all is well Diane

  5. An impressive selection of veggies from the garden. We don't grow our own but at this time of year the local farmers' markets have an abundance at very reasonable prices. The first sweet corn is already available and it is delicious.

    1. The vegetables are really doing well. Most people herein the country grow their own, the market is every Saturday but you cannot always get what you want and they are not that cheap. I have not tried growing sweetcorn here, too high and will cast shadow in the garden where I do not need it. That I will buy from the market :-) Take care Diane
