30/07/2017 A few emergency photos late in the garden

Maximum temperature 25, minimum 16C.   11 km/h NW winds with 19 km/h gusts. Not enough rain in the gauge to measure.
Over 600 mirabelle plums de-stoned and in the dehydrator - good reason to be short on time even with Nigel's help.

I had one shot at this little spider and it disappeared...

as you can see on the zinnia here!

Raspberries.

Bee on the clover....

and taking a drink.

Choisya ternata.

Calendula and I think a member of the bee family maybe.

Think this is simply a garden spider - on the rose bush.

Haricot Bean flowers.

Possibly an edible mushroom but I would need it checked first!!!!

Last but not least a rose bud.

  4. Hello, Diane. Love the flowers and the little critters. Great plum harvest and interesting contraption to dry them. I have only ever seen the small plastic ones on sale. Those raspberries look luscious and I enjoy mushrooms but would never pick them myself. Like you I just tale photos of the wild ones :)

    1. We have picked mushrooms from the garden and eaten them when there has been a lot and I have had them checked at the pharmacy. I would never bother though with the odd one if I was not sure, which I never would be myself!! Have a good day Diane

  6. Hello Diane, what awesome macro shots. Wow, I scrolled up and down drinking in the beauty of each one. The garden spider and the raspberries are my favorites. Thanks for always visiting my blog. I've been a little off blog visits recently as I sunk into the doldrums for about a week. This is something that never happens to me but I've snapped out of it now, thank goodness. Have a wonderful day. Jo

    1. Thanks JO. I know the feeling, I get in a mood from time to time that I just need a break and not feel it is a commitment!! Glad though that you have snapped out of it, take care and have a good week Diane

  7. You guys do so much work I get tried just reading about it! Years ago I had a birding friend, sadly gone now after a terrible bout with cancer, and he used to dry copious quantities of fruit and bring a little bag for me when we went out together. I always think of Ed when I have dried fruit.

    1. Last year the plums only lasted a matter of weeks after drying. They were so good they got eaten too quickly!! Think this year I must had some! Cheers Diane
