Arriving at the restaurant
Beautiful views in every direction...
as above.
The owner always walks out to welcome her guests.
The menu.
Amuuse-bouche, plus a small melon drink not photographed.
I missed the photo on the second course, but Nigel had Cabillaud on a bed of courgettes for mains..
and I had stuffed chicken breast with parsnips and potatoes
Strawberry millefeuille for desert, and of course wine and cafe noir..
In the gardens is this waterfall with goldfish hiding under the bank.
Loved this pottery, there were several of them and I suspect they are lights.
Looking back through the tunnel...
Which many, many years ago was a mushroom farm growing them for export so I believe.
Nearly back home driving through Taponnat-Fleurignac. The new boulangerie on the left which opened quite recently.
Delightful drive. And even more delightful meal!!!
ReplyDeleteBut please tell me, that you don't eat like this every day!?! Please...! -chuckle- Please be warned, it will break my heart, if you say, you do. ,-)))))
Which would mean, that you CAN!!! When of course, I can not!!!!
Ha ha no we do not eat like this every day. Just a case of things have not been running smoothly here for the past few weeks, what with computers and a few health problems, that we felt like we need to go for a drive. Breathe in some fresh air and spoil ourselves at a good restaurant!!! On the other hand the French always eat well and there are often great communal lunches which are very popular. Have a great weekend Diane
DeleteI love the garden with the waterfall and fish, Diane! The food looks quite delicious! I love the restaurant facade, too, and how nice that the restaurant owner greets her guests. I love the views in your last photo!
ReplyDeleteIt is a really pretty place Linda and somehow very relaxing. It is so close to a built up area, and industrial is also quite close, but here you almost feel like you are miles from anywhere. Something to do with tunnel between the restaurant and the 'rest of the world'. Take care I am worried about you, hope all turns out for the best. Diane
DeleteMy God that looks like a fabulous meal. My bouche would have been very amused! And to think I merely had a sandwich! Even for dinner I only had cold chicken with salad. I did have a glass of wine, however! Have a great weekend, Diane!
ReplyDeleteOne of our favourite restaurants but not one we go to often as it is quite far. We just wanted to go for a drive :-) Have a good week Diane
DeleteThanks for sharing this food, the restaurant and the nice area! I love that pottery!!!
ReplyDeleteThe pottery is great I would quite like some of those pots in our garden. Hope you have a good week Diane
DeleteFascinating about the mushroom farm. A delightful looking restaurant and how very nice of the owner to greet her customers, a lovely touch. The pottery would look lovely at night. Have a great weekend Diane.
ReplyDeleteI do not know any other restaurant where they actually walk down the path to meet their guests, but several greet you at the door.. Hope you have a good week. Diane
DeleteOh la! Your lunch looked scrumpsh Diana, there's nothing nicer than fresh vegetables in season. It's nearly 1am here in Perth, far to late/early to be thinking about food 😀😀 enjoy your Sunday.
ReplyDeleteWe are spoilt with fresh vegetables as we use from our garden on a daily basis. That was a very yummy lunch though and I did not have to cook it which is even better :-) Have a good week Diane
DeleteOh my....I have NO clue what that food is and I could not read the menu but it looks great!
ReplyDeleteOh come on I wrote underneath what we had in English :-) Yea it was great. Keep well Diane
