Ah! It won't be long before we start cutting wood too! Mike's dad always said firewood warms your more than once!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Mike's dad is right but four sessions in two days has hit every muscle and our backs as well! We still need to do a bit more but it will wait as Nigel is out all day tomorrow on a cookery course :-) Thanks and you have a good day as well. Diane
DeleteThat's a lot of wood! Hope you are not too stiff and sore after all that work.
ReplyDeleteThat is the big pile that you see, we are cutting from that and stacking in the barn in the dry. We are both stiff and sore after four sessions!! Bit more to go but later. Take care Diane
DeleteBeautiful photos, Diane. The spider reminds me of one I have seen in Montreal from time to time....although not for quite some time, the Daddy Long Legs.
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda The Opiliones or are an order of arachnids colloquially known as harvestmen, harvesters or daddy longlegs. Although both harvestmen and spiders are arachnids, the two orders are not otherwise closely related.
DeleteEnjoy your day Diane
Getting prepared for the winter with a load of wood. Great exercise! You definitely won't need a workout today.
ReplyDeleteGreat exercise indeed!! Hopefully though it will mean we are warm in winter :-) Cheers Diane
DeleteThe wood in the 1st photo reminds me of my childhood days. We used the chop the pieces of logs into small pieces for firewood. Pretty flowers and critters from your garden. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThank goodness we do not have to chop it, we would be at it for months! Diane
DeleteWow, you cut a lot of wood!
ReplyDeleteAll are pretty photos, but I do love the "Daddy Long Legs," as we call that spider.
That pile is the wood we are cutting, what is cut is inside in the barn to keep dry :-) Keep well Diane
DeleteCutting and stacking on wood, getting ready for the winter? Lots of work in that.
ReplyDeleteLots of work but so well worthwhile. I would not survive without the wood stove! Have a good day Diane
DeleteMy what long legs the Harvestman has! That's one way to keep fit Diane, chopping wood. Wonderful macros ✨
ReplyDeleteThanks Grace, one way to keep fit and one way to get back ache!! LOL Take care Diane
DeleteI love the warmth of wood heat and often wish I could do that in the RV.
ReplyDeleteMight not be the best place to have a wood fire! It is so much more warming than central heating ! Diane
