Maximum temperature 21C, minimum 8C. 10 km/h SE wind with 19 km/h gusts. Dry :-)
Day four, and even the heavy dew had gone when I took this photo. A few brown spots but still beautiful.
One of the climbing roses.
I was stuck here for about 10 mins coming home this afternoon after my haircut. About a 2 minute walk from home so little point in backing way down the road to find another route.
It seems they are putting in some new concrete electrical posts.
A crop planted just down the road from us which I have not been able to identify!
For those that asked if the Gendarme beetle was a ladybird you can see the difference here.
Ladybird (Coccinellidae) above....
and Le Gendarme beetle (Pyrrhocoris apterus).
Marigold
and a fly on one of the green tomatoes.
Time we had some fried green tomatoes - yum yum.
Your photos are so peaceful. It's all of that green. I wouldn't even mind being stuck on your way home. The narrow street lined with lush vegetation induces such feelings of relaxation.
ReplyDeleteHa ha with all the recent rain it is very green despite many of the trees starting to lose their leaves now. Have a good weekend Diane
DeleteSuch beautiful roses and a Gendarme beetle!
ReplyDeleteThanks Shon for the comment, appreciated. Have a great weekend Diane
DeleteBeautiful photos, Diane, and I love ladybugs.
ReplyDeleteI also love lady bird bugs, they eat the horrible aphids that destroy my plants. Take care and have a good Sunday, Diane
DeleteIt seems I'm always catching up! Your roses are so lovely! Alas, something I struggle to grow! Maybe I spend too much time with my dogs and not enough time in the garden!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
If I had your dogs I am sure I would be the same. Take care Diane
DeleteYour flowers are still beautiful and the bug has a pretty design on its back. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI always think those Gendarme bugs look like African masks. Enjoy your Sunday Diane
DeleteI love YOUR photo oth the lady bug! Very nice. Also the first rose. What a beauty!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Aritha, I hope all is well with you. Regards to Ralph and have a good Sunday Diane
DeleteAll photos are delightful Diane, thank you so much for sharing them. Even though the road was blocking your way home, it shows a lovely countryside.
ReplyDeleteYou get used to vehicles blocking the roads in this place, almost every time one goes out you meet up with a tractor somewhere. Take care Diane
DeleteThe rose is still 'hanging in.' :-)
ReplyDeleteVery narrow streets. Put in place, for other means of transportation. :-)
Yes these roads were put in originally for horse and carts, our house is over 200 years old. Vehicles have grown is size since then :-) Diane
DeleteI believe that roses are beautiful almost until the last petal falls off 😀 The roads are so narrow in country towns Diane, really lovely but are there many accidents?
ReplyDeleteNot really many accidents Grace though the French drive far too fast on these roads. I have had a side mirror removed from our car when I was driving home late one night from friends. A guy came around the corner (possibly drunk) in a van, side swiped me and disappeared into the darkness never to be seen again!! Expensive mirror!!!!! Take care Diane
DeleteYour pictures have great color.
ReplyDeleteThanks Emma, lots of rain and lots of green at the moment :-) Take care Diane
DeleteYour streets are incredibly narrow.
ReplyDeleteHa ha and that is wider the the one we live in ! Hope all is well Diane
