ReplyDeleteThanks Marie, I thought the oth wa lovely just wish I could have put a name to it!! Enjoy the remainder of the week. Diane
DeleteI am sure that your next series of pictures will feature the friends after they have arrived, rather than a forlorn table with empty chairs. Thirty-seven years together is worthy of scenes of frivolity and mirth, reminiscences, nostalgia, plans for the next thirty-seven, hugs, kisses, squeezes, embraces, drinking, singing perhaps, naughty words, sidelong glances filled with innuendo and promises of earthly delights. You can do it!
ReplyDeleteDavid there are some people who do not like being photographed and put on blogs which is the whole reason that the table went on with a folorn look!!!!! Sorry no follow ups. Cheers Diane.
DeleteYou didn’t even show us the food! I have heard of empty nesters but you and Nigel shall henceforth be know as the empty tablers!
DeleteThere was absolutely no time for food photos. Although I had most of it prepared ahead of schedule, when I am cooking, serving, eating, washing up between courses as we have no dishwasher the camera is forgotten. I insist on Nigel leaving it all to me as we cannot both abandoned guests. As a matter of interest, it was prawn and smoked salmon starter, lamb curry served with spiced rice and all the extra small dishes. Cereal bread served with a choice of cheeses all of which were very mature! Trifle made with cognac and fruit from the garden and home-made custard. By then we were all too full to eat any cake!! All served with a selection of champagne, red and rosé wine. We eat French style spreading it out over the whole afternoon.
DeleteA feast to be sure.
DeleteHappy anniversary. You have some good-looking friends. The butterfly family is especially attractive.
ReplyDeleteThanks Emma, I agree the friends are good looking 😊 Take care Diane
DeleteHi Diane, I'm assuming that is your verandah in the first pics. It lovely and I like the stone. You certainly have a large garden too and I like all your garden captures today. I know it can keep a person busy. I don't have a very large garden and I am sure I couldn't keep up to one any larger than what I've got, lol. Happy anniversary. You and Nigel have definitely reach a great milestone in your relationship and I commend you.
ReplyDeleteThanks Penny for the good wishes, only anoher 3 years to get t0 40 !
DeleteYes that is our verandah, we had it tiled about 4 years ago. Before that it was 1/2 crumbling slasto paving and 1/2 gravel. It is a huge improvment. Yes it is quite a big garden and it is hard work. It used to be easy, but as we get older it gets much harder especailly the vegetable garden.
Keep well and enjoythe rest of the week Diane
Wow Diane! I read the food you prepared (in your comment reply to David). That sounds so scrumptious and also very involved. Given it was a special occasion I'm sure you didn't mind the time and effort but understand you would have little time for photo taking :-)
DeleteI just do not have time to take photos when entertaining! Most of the food I had prepared in advance but I still have no time on the day. Cheers Diane
DeleteHappy Anniversary, Diane! I wish you always to be happy, my friend.
ReplyDeleteYou know I always admire your fabulous photos!!!!!! Hugs, my dear lady.
Many thanks Mia, kind words. Have a good day and take care Diane

DeleteA belated Happy Anniversary, Diane and Nigel. A lovely post - can't help with the moth ID - I don't think it's one we get in UK. Best wishes for the next 37 years - - - Richard
ReplyDeleteAnother 37 wow I will be the oldest person in the world by then 😉 Thanks for the good wishes and pity you did not know what the moth was. Best wishes Diane
DeleteLunch sounds delightful even if no pics of food or people. Nice to be able to serve some things from your own garden. Happy Anniversary!
