31/10/2018 I cannot believe it is November tomorrow!!!!!!

Maximum temperature today 14C, minimum 8C.  Rain all day not measured yet; 17km/h South-Easterly winds with up to 34 km/h gusts.

The weather cleared a bit yesterday and I managed to fit in a 5km walk.  No exciting photos but local views around and about.

Cattle...

Curious creatures...

The man in the field.

Looking across at a farmhouse.

Ploughed fields and green fields.

Just liked this view.

Not many signs of Autumn but it is starting.

What do you see here?  Wonder if it is the same as what I see 😉  Will tell you more later!

My pet hate in the distance, thank goodness they are far and I hope it remains that way!!

At the top of the hill in amongst the trees is our house.

Some tracks are straight...

and some are windy.

I try to avoid these areas you never know when the French are out hunting!!

Sweet Chestnuts - I collected over 1 kg.   Recipe to follow soon.

Getting ready for winter.  wood for the home and hay for the animals.

Back home - our neighbours...

as above...

As above.

21/07/2017 I am now a day behind myself thanks to the snail like WIFI connection yesterday.........

Maximum temperature 24C, minimum 10C.   15 km/h NW winds with 18 km/h gusts.  Dry.
Driving to Soyaux yesterday past fields of sunflowers.

Seemed that all had been pretty much cleared by the time we got there!

Crossing over La Touvre river.

Love this roundabout in Soyaux where they have restored part of an old building in the centre.

Hay on the move.

Only 3 trains a day on this track between Angouleme and Limoges so this is a rare occasion to be stopped on the road.

Californian poppy

Small copper  (Lycaena phlaeas)

Sweet potato flower with a fly looking out.

Graphosoma lineatum.

A small hopper on the calendula...

and two what I think are shield bugs.

08/12/2016 Last trip to the physio before we leave for Christmas.

Maximum temperature 15C, minimum 3C. 43 km/h SW wind.   No rain.
Something we seldom see - sunrise (and pink vapour trails). 08h00

Blue skies and white vapour trails 09h00

Winter is here and the trees are bare.

Tractors at work as always; but spot the mistletoe in the trees on the left.

Hay on the move!

A drive by shot of Montemboeuf Church on our return.

For those who might ask - there is a huge improvement in my back after treatment so I am hoping I will manage well while away.

Warming up the house...

Love our thick stone walls in summer but they take a lot of warming up when the temperature drops!

Feed put out for the sheep next door but where are the sheep?

The last of the roses.
