  4. One does not wish to be too pedantic, Diane, but you show a female House Sparrow, and the caption for the picture below says, "As above", but the second picture is of a male. But we are in the days of gender confusion and selective identity, aren't we? All the very best for 2023 for you and Nigel. Bon voyage en Afrique de Sud - David (He/him).

    1. I wish it was easier the change comments sometimes. I always read them through but then as I press publish I see something too late that I missed 😊 I might get another blog in before we leave, but with the electricity not working most of the time in RSA, you may not see me again until April!! Cheers Diane

  5. That mural is incredible! Lifelike indeed. The other critters, with similar species here, look like old friends. And the flowers…you’re lucky to have some blooms remaining.

  6. I love your new header banner, Diane - is that a painting by yourself or have you somehow done a photographic collage?

You garden bird images are delightful, and I do love the way that you frame your excellent garden flower images.

Thank you for your kind concern over Lindsay's wellbeing. My very best wishes to you and Nigel for 2023 - may it be a really good one for you and I hope that your forthcoming visit to RSA exceeds all expectations. Stay safe - - - Richard

    1. Hi Richard, it is a photographic collage, but because I do not have photo shop it took me many hours to do, my programme is over 20 years old and was free at the time. It does not exist as such any more, it now goes under a new name with all its updates.

I hope RSA works out, it has taken a lot of planning and booking where we are not staying with friends.

Very best wishes to you both and I hope you have got to the bottom of Lindsay's problem. Keep well, and you stay safe a well. Cheers Diane

  8. And now I'm jealous. A month or in the African sunshine would be a change from our weather of the last 4 months. Enjoy every day Diane. And take lots of photos.

    1. Thanks Phil, I have to say I have never looked forward to a holiday so much, I am really tired of this weather now. I always take lots of photos, and then it takes me months to go through them all. Always far too many! Keep warm and dry, cheers Diane
