20/03/2016 Yesterday today!!!!!

Maximum temperature 14C, minimum 3C,  25 km/k NE wind.  Light drizzle.
Blackbird this morning, one lucky shot as I missed the bath and he was gone before I clicked twice!

Today's veggies from the garden, not bad for this time of the year.

All photos following, were taken late yesterday when we went to the concert in the church at Maisonnais sur Tardoire.  The sun was low and did not make photos easy!
Maisonnais sur Tardoire church.   Eglise Saint-Cyprien 11th century.

Inside and the altar.

The choir singing - our friend  3rd from the right...

There was a little acting with some of the songs, note the hats here!
I was more than a little impressed by the singing - it was superb and I am not easily impressed!!!!

The church taken from the other end of town.

This house was built in 1905 - it was built with Charente Limestone and not the usual granite....

Stone carving over the front window.

Gateway into a very large house see below with a second gateway...

    1. It still amazes us as well, every little village seems to have an historic building of some type and most of the houses in the old villages are all over 200 years old. Our house is on the Napoleonic Cadastral plan 1839 and it had probably had been around quite some time before that! Have a good day Diane

  5. As usual I am taken with the architecture too. I'll bet the acoustics in the church were ideal for the music. Fresh garden vegies this time of year?

  6. Gaelyn the acoustics were stunning and the singing was faultless, I was amazed and I enjoyed it so much. We have leeks, chard and topinambour all ready in the garden. Cabbage won't be long, neither will the broad beans. Garlic will be pulled very soon. Rhubarb starting to shoot and carrots and parsnips should be coming up any day soon. Potatoes will go in at the end of the month. Keep well and stay out of the sand :-) Diane
