09/05/2017 Short on photos today - too much wind.

Maximum temperature 18C, minimum 2C.  23 km/h, 40 km/h gusts E wind and chilly.   Dry.
Taken through the window - Mrs House Sparrow (Passer domesticus)

Wood pigeons (Columba palumbus) and House Sparrows.

The first time I have seen pied wagtails (Moticilla alba) in the garden and there appear to be a pair.  They were far away though at the bottom of the garden and I took this through the window,
Just to confuse me they seem to be called Bergeronnette grise - White wagtail in France!

The neighbours cat stalking 'my' birds Grrrrrrrrrrrr.

Crane fly.

Lizard on the windowsill while I was taking photos of the birds through the window.

and on the wall outside.

Choisya ternata going over, but still some flower on the bush.

  1. That's what happens when folks let their cats run free. :( Lovely cat. Diane, your sparrow looks like she was posing for you! Wow, I love the lizards...imagine getting these visitors! I never see any in Montreal. And the crane fly is something I have never seen, and the wood pigeons as well. Beautiful series, thank you so much for sharing.

    1. I do love our lizards and especially the green ones. I have only seen one this year and it was too quick for me! That flippin cat not only chases the birds but also eats their fat that we put out for them when it is very cold!!!! Have a good day Diane

  3. Great series of pictures, Diane. Too bad the neighbours won't keep their cat indoors; they are so lethal to birds. I am really taken with the lizards. It's not something we have here at all and I wish we did.

    1. The problem with cats here are they are farm cats so are supposed to kill mice and rats but they like 'our' birds as well sadly. I am very fond of our lizards, hopefully I will get some photos of the green one soon, they are very quick! Have a good day Diane
