Great insects images. Have a beautiful day!
ReplyDeleteThanks Nancy and I hope you have a great day also, Diane
DeleteI love all the produce from your garden, Diane! And I can see why how the shield bug got its name! Gorgeous photos! And the bee in the pumpkin flower and ladybug captures are magical!
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda, the produce is coming in fast from the garden, it is a case of keeping up with it all! We do enjoy the result in winter though. I loved that bee in the pumpkin flower covered in pollen. Hope all is well Diane
DeleteNice harvest.
ReplyDeleteWe are pretty happy with the veggie garden this year despite planting late as we were away. Cheers Diane
DeleteI love your photography, Diane, and am totally in awe of you managing to freeze the wing movement of that Humming-bird Hawk-moth. Incidentally, your shield bug is of a species commonly known in UK as a Dock Bug - why?, I don't know!
ReplyDeleteWith my very best wishes - - - Richard
Many thanks Richard, if I take enough photos of the Moth I must get one right from time to time :-) Just looked up the answer - It is commonly known as the dock bug as it feeds on the leaves and seeds of docks and sorrels. Now I know what is eating our sorrel!!!!
DeleteCheers Diane
Everything but the flies, are lovely.
ReplyDeleteFlies, one of those questions...? Why did flies evolve? And be here, to bedevil us? ??????????????????
Luna Crone
I have to agree Luna, I hate flies but I guess they must be here for a reason even if it is to annoy us :-)) Have a good day Diane
DeleteBeautiful photos. How I love ladybirds...
ReplyDeleteAmalia
xo
I also love Ladybirds and I am always happy to have them around munching up the green and black-flies that are always on our fruit trees. Thanks for the comment Diane
DeleteExcellent series of images Diane. The tiny hummingbird is a delight! I am so impressed with your veggie yield, there isn't much more delicious than fresh produce!
ReplyDeleteThanks Grace we had salmon tonight with new potatoes and roasted carrots, parsnips and courgette, yum yum. So much more flavour than the bought 'stuff'! Have a good day Diane
DeleteI am once again impressed with all your macro photography Diane. So very interesting and dare I say I have seen the blossoms but not the pumpkins in this stage. I am such a city girl, lol!
ReplyDeleteHa ha Denise, you may see them in many stages as they grow in our garden. Thanks so much for the kind comment it is much appreciated Diane
DeleteYou have biting, stinking and pecking critters that. Great shots.
ReplyDeleteYes we have them all in the garden, lucky we do or I would rum out of photos LOL. Keep well Diane
DeleteJust came by to wish you a Happy Bastille Day Diane, and to all my French friends out there.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks Denise. Firework displays in every town last night and tonight. At least everyone with animals knows the score so they can keep them shut in and safe. Diane
