13/08/2017 Home and away.

Maximum temperature 23C, minimum 15C.   5 km/h NE wind with 14 km/h gusts.  Dry.
Sparrow happily splashing around...

but this miserable blackbird chased her away...

so three sparrows went further away to have fun...

splish splash...

when who comes along again and spoils it all!!!

Sparrow looking on from a higher point.

Away - just down the road twins are at the milk bar...

while a younger loner looks on.

Fritillary (Melitaea family) but I have no idea which one it is.

Jersey Tiger moth.

Unknown moth!!

As above.

Poppies and bug.

Possibly a small white butterfly but this seemed smaller than normal!!

  1. This list seems to have a hint of Africa about to, what with the attractive bird bath and a butterfly that is reminiscent of a Zebra.

  2. Oh that gorgeous white butterfly! So very beautiful... Captured by your photo, for us to see/enjoy. I just love it!

Our poppies bloom much earlier, and are long gone now. -sigh-

and you can capture the splashing of birds in a bird bath! Great!!!!!

Sorry about your slow wi-fi. Is there no way to improve this? Probably not, or you would have had it done. No one has time or patience, to spend endless time, trying to do computer things....

    Gentle hugs,

    1. Our poppies also bloom early, not sure what these few are still doing!

We have pulled all strings re the WiFi but to no avail, we live in the country in a very small hamlet and we are not important enough. We are told maybe 3 to 4 years!!!!! One can hope.

      Take care Diane

    1. That blackbird was particularly stroppy trying to peck the small birds if they came close! Not often you see twins that big still at the milk bar but they had a very good mother obviously.
Have a fab week Grace. Take care Diane
