29/08/2017 In the garden again and Nigel did go shopping.

Maximum temperature 31C, minimum 20C.  10 km/h NW wind with 26km/h gusts.  Dry.
The forecast was wrong, it was actually cooler today thanks to some cloud cover.
Bee on the garlic chives.

Busy as a bee - Pumpkin flower...

Common Purple & Gold (Pyrausta purpuralis).  This moth is very, very tiny.

Allo Jardin, Nigel went to see them about cutting our big hedge.  I used to do it but it is such hard work!

  4. It is interesting to note that we have many similar insects! I love the cobblestone drive of Allo Jardin! Glad it was cooler. We have had a below normal temp August for which we are thankful!

    1. Yes we do have a lot of similar insects. I think those 'cobblestones' are actually brick but they have a good pattern. We prefer the heat anytime to the cold!!! Take care Diane.

  6. Butterfly wings are a symmetrical wonder Diane! Fab macros. I know what you mean about hedges, we have a big hedge in the front and back garden that I used to trim.. in summer every two weeks, that I have now delegated to my husband 😀

    1. Butterfly wings are amazing, and moths as well. Our hedge is very wide and we keep it around 2 metres high and it is long with little space on one side. 12 years ago when we bought here I was much more capable than I am now!!! LOL. Take care cheers Diane
