02/09/2017 Around the Garden.

Maximum temperature 22C, minimum 10C.  5 km/h NW chilly wind with 22km/h gusts.  4 mm of rain measured this morning.
Just liked this cloud formation.

Bumblebee.

Carpenter Bee (Xylocopa).

Common Blue (Polyommatus icarus)...

As above - female.

Gatekeeper (Pyronia tithonus).

Harvestman.

Meadow Brown (Maniola jurtina).

Fritillary, but not at all sure which one.

Rose

Small White  (Pieris rapae)...

As above.

Baby wall lizard.

Thistle.

Sweet Potato flower and bug.

Pampas.

Butternuts.

Quinces, they are starting to turn yellow.

    Your butterflies are still about. Wonder when they start to migrate.....

    1. So far as I know they do not migrate, they spend winter as caterpillars or pupas. I have photographed butterflies here in November before.

  3. I could pass quite some time watching the clouds go by. Sometimes the formations are just magnificent. I've seen some great images from airplane windows. Admiring your first shot and thinking about this.
