Maximum temperature today 29C, minimum 15C. Dry; 10km/h North-westerly winds with up to 24 km/h gusts.
I love driving through the forest areas. The sky was blue, but not this blue, the tinted windscreen again!!
Lots of obstructions on the roads, but we missed a photo of the biggest vehicle as we were busy watching we did not end up in a ditch!...
as above...
Tight fit!
La Vienne river, drive-by photo at Coldebouye.
The church at Chirac.
A well at Esse.
A new car to me. A Noble - I had never heard of a Noble before let alone seen one. Seen at Esse
Driving home through more treed areas.
In the garden at home...
Meadow Brown (Maniola jurtina)...
As above.
Cosmos with insects - friends or foes!!
Cosmos and bumblebee.
Common Wall Lizard (Podarcis muralis).
This weather is ridiculous, huh? It is still in the high twenties/low thirties here - in the second half of September. I can’t wait for the first good frost.
ReplyDeleteThis weather is wonderful long may the frost stay away 😉 Keep well Diane
DeleteThat seems like very pleasant weather. Cool evenings and warm days.
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty good, for me long may it last! Cheers Diane
DeleteHaha...you got such a close up shot of the lizard that at first glance I thought it was a alligator!!! Kidding. Cool shot. Love the wooded road that you were traveling on. So very pretty!!!
ReplyDeleteThank goodness there is not much chance of an aligator or a crocodile in our garden LOL. We had cros around our garden when we lived on the Hunyani river in Rhodesia. We had to be very aware of them when gardening near the banks. I love the big forest areas in France they are very special. Hope you are well Diane
DeleteYou live in such a pretty spot Diane.. although those narrow roads are a wee bit scary. Still I guess it's a slower pace than city roads. Beautiful images, always love to see your part of the world, take care ✨
ReplyDeleteThere are so many idiot drivers here that just drive too fast, and when on the narrow roads they hog the middle of the road. One night coming home a driver, who I guess had also had a few too many, took off our side mirror driving far too fast. It was dark and he disappeard at high speed leaving us both suffereing from shock. It was also expensive as it was one of those fancy electronic mirrors! We end to drive in the grass a lot of the time but sometimes the ditches are not far back! Still love France though and the countryside. Take care Diane
DeleteDiane, you always find the most wonderful things to photograph. I simply love the 'driving through the woods'. This reminds me of place here, and when driving through it seems to bring peace, if you know what I mean.
ReplyDeletexoxo
I also find the forest areas extremly peaceful and often the roads are fairly quiet so it is relaxing as well. Take care Diane xx
DeleteWe don’t have lizards here, just garter snakes. Love the countryside photos, Dinae.
ReplyDeleteWe have both lizards and snakes, the worst ones being the adders which are very poisonous. Have a good day Diane
DeleteSo much construction equipment. It looks like they should have the job done in no time. That is a great picture of the lizard. I could almost touch it.
ReplyDeleteIt is all the farmers trying t get their crops in and sold etc before the weather gets too cold. The lizard was right by the back door and pretty much ignoring me :-) Keep well Diane
DeleteI too love to drive through areas with lots of trees. Looks like the road is busy with lots of heavy vehicle. I like the river and church view, including the pretty critters and flowers from your garden.
ReplyDeleteNancy the forests around us are vast and such a pleasure to drive through. The farmers are busy with all the last minute jobs before it gets to cold so they are all out on the road. Hope you hae a good weekend Diane
DeleteDelighful images, Diane.
ReplyDeleteI wish our weather was as good as yours. It's been very windy this week, with extreme weather warnings which, unfortunately, coincided with Lindsay and I being away. It was so bad when we were up on the North Yorkshire Moors that cars were stopping as they couldn't see where they were going! We've got the heating on in the house as it's cold (10°C, with the wind-chill factor taking it down to 6°C), wet, and windy at the moment.
I was aware of Noble Cars - their factory is only about 30km from us, but it's extremely unusual to see one as they make so few. I have no idea what they cost new, but I've seen 2nd hand ones advertised for nearly a quarter of a million pounds!
Have a great weekend - - - Richard
We had rain today Richard which was great for the garden, luckily it was light and soaked in which was good. We thankfully have not had your winds. Nothing worse than being away with bad weather. I remember our last trip to Scotland and driving home with the tail end of a cyclone and minutes after we drove through the road was closed!!
DeleteYes, I looked up Noble cars you are right they are not cheap!!!! At least now I have seen one and also now heard of them!
Have a good weekend and take care Diane.
I love the scenic photos Diane. I can't believe how hot it is there. Where I live the temperatures suddenly and dramatically cooled. We seem to be experiencing 10 degrees difference overnight these days from cold to hot or vice versa. My countrymen to the east in Toronto were experiencing 33 Celsius a days ago while I was having temperatures of 16 and raining. Nothing is very predictable anymore it seems so I just try to enjoy whatever it is we do get and am thankful things aren't much worse. I'm glad your temperatures are lovely and I hope it lasts for awhile for you. BTW, the experience of decluttering for Nigel's aunt sounds nightmarish esp. if she hide money everywhere.
ReplyDeleteIt is much cooler today but I hope it will not last, I need summer for a bit longer yet !! France is beautiful though which helps to couteract the cold of winter which I must say is much shorter than it in the UK!
DeleteHope you have a good Sunday Diane
Like always Diane yours pictures looks beautiful ! hugs!
ReplyDeletehanks Gloria, take care and ave a good Sunday Diane
DeleteI love your tree-lined drives but passing those huge pieces of equipment doesn't look like fun. Even in that pretty blue Nobel.
ReplyDeleteI also love the forest countryside, but the farmers tend to hog the road at this time of the year regardless that it is easier for them to move off the side of the road than it is for us with a much lower car!! Yes the Noble is pretty but give me the car behind any time :-))) Take care Diane
DeleteBEAUTIFUL photos, as always, Diane. I especially love the photos with the bees!!!!!!!!!!! Hugs, my lovely friend.
