Maximum temperature here today 11⁰C, minimum 5⁰C. 10 mm of rain measured this morning but we have had quite a lot over the last few days! 22km/h North-easterly winds with gusts up to 49 km/h.
I apologise for the 'break-in transmission', but our WiFi has been ridiculous and I have not been able to load any photos easily, and sometimes not at all. Also visiting has been a problem as there has not been enough speed to download your blogs for me to see them. It is frustrating, and very time consuming trying to do anything on the computer.
I have been doing quite a lot of walking now as not so much to do in the kitchen, all fruit and vegetables have considerably slowed down! Now I am allowed more time, and a bigger radius to walk in, although still in lockdown, I am most days walking between 8 and 11 kms.
I just liked this shot of the moon behind the clouds and over the top of a barn roof,

Let us all join in great fun. Not much time left now.
Glad to know you can get a bit further afield now. Great photos. Love those geese. We only ever see the Canada kind. The last photo of the moss shows great detail which I love. Who doesn’t love a prancing goat?
ReplyDeleteIt is so nice to have a choice of where to walk instead of the same route keeping to the lockdown restrictions. Not a lot to take photos of now though with winter setting in. Take care Diane
DeleteGreat series of pictures, as always, Diane. i am curious about the Nene, a species that is barely hanging on in Hawaii. It was brought back from the brink of extinction by a recovery programme at Slimbridge many years ago, and I had not realized they were also present in private waterfowl collections, which is where I assume the birds you depict originate. You must be thrilled to be able to walk more freely and you are certainly taking advantage of it. You are an impressive hoofer! Stay well. David
ReplyDeleteIt is wonderful to be able to walk different routes and with a 3 hour restriction instead of the one hour. David I am as curious about the Nene as you are. I have not seen them before and they were in a large field chasing some ducks, I did know that they were probably the rarest goose in the world. My fear is that they may end up on a table for Christmas!!!!!. I will walk that way again in the New Year as see if I can spot them! Fingers crossed.
DeleteTake care Diane
I'm so pleased to hear that you are making the most of your extended freedom, Diane. I'm also extremely impressed by your 8 to 11 km walks - it's over a week since I managed to get out for a walk!
ReplyDeleteI envy your warm temperatures and your fabulous surroundings. That church is very special. Great photos!
I suspect that your internet, like ours, is getting overloaded due to the build-up to Christmas, particularly through on-line shopping. Our internet is usually very fast but today, for example, there have been several times when I just couldn't connect, even to access email.
Take great care. Best wishes to you and Nigel - - - Richard
Hi Richard, I am not so sure it in on-line shopping here, but the fact that we have serious lockdown, and the kids have broken up, so the computers are in all day use as there is little else for many to do.
DeleteThe temps are very mild and I am trying to get out most days, sometimes for just a short walk but at least a long walk a couple of time a week.
Not a lot to photograph now though with it getting colder so blogs may get ever further apart without me being able to blame the internet!
Keep safe and I wish you and the family all the very best. Diane
The moon shot is excellent, the moon, sun and stars fascinate me still at this old age. 😊 And I love the goats, they can always give us a chuckle or two, so cute with their antics. The church, love love pics and seeing old churches in person. Good that your walking a lot. Chilly with snow on the way this weekend and everything is closed. Take care and be safe.
ReplyDeleteI am also fascinate by the sky and the stars, I would love a good telescope :-) There has been snow around, but so far we have steered clear though we have had a lot of rain. Stay safe and keep well Diane
DeleteLovely photographs :)
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Thanks for the comment always appreciated. Keep safe Diane

ReplyDeleteNancy I have never lived in a town as such, and I am lucky to have spent my life appreciating the county.
DeleteKeep well and stay safe Diane

Thanks so much Maria, I think we are very lucky to live here, but you also have masses of history about you.
DeleteCheers and take care, Diane
Nice to hear you are able to get and further afield. I am amazed by the flowers yet.
ReplyDeleteHi Gaelyn, there are still a few flowers about. We have a Choisya Ternata shrub by the door leading into the garden and the perfume is amazing. Have a great week, and stay safe, Diane
DeleteYour photos area so delightful to see! I really like the first shot of the moon, too!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice that you can get out more and more. Nature is so good for the mind.
Your link at 'My Corner of the World' this week is an exciting addition! Thanks for joining us!
Thanks you Betty and for hosting. It is so good that we are now allowed out for 3 hours and with a bigger circumference, I am appreciating it. Hope all is well there, Diane
DeleteWonderful series of photos Diane. Gosh you must be quite fit now, that's a really good walk each day, the very best kind of exercise! You live in a very beautiful part of the world, surrounded by so much history 💙💚
ReplyDeleteGrace I am nowhere near as fit as I used to be, but guess I am also not as young as I used to be! We are lucky to have so much beauty and history around us. Hope all is well, have a good week Diane
DeleteHi Diane - so many at home demanding time on the techie bits of the net! Mine is slow too ... but it works. Great to see the photos and wonderful you can range further afield ... and have more time now the veggies and fruits have mostly done their bit for this year. At least you're well stocked ... love the church - I always enjoy reading about these. Take care - Hilary
ReplyDeleteTime still seems to be running out on me but I am trying to get out and walk most days, I am always out for 2 to 3 hours so it it seems to be quite a bit out of my normal day. So many historic churches in France and if only those walls could talk. Keep safe Hilary and take care Diane
DeleteThose wi-fi problems must be very frustrating but I am happy when you can visit, though not expected as I know how it is. Great photos as always!
ReplyDeleteDenise the WiFi is more than frustrating. What should take a few minutes ends up taking hours. I am getting further and further behind! Hope all os well with you, Diane
DeleteHoi Diane, I love that old church!
ReplyDeleteAritha so many beautiful old churches in France, but you must also have them there as well. If only they could talk! Hope all is well with you and the family, take care and stay safe, Diane
DeleteOoh, that's a magnificent moon shot.
ReplyDeleteThanks a bit different with the clouds hogging the view 😊
DeleteHope all is well, cheers Diane
Great shots as usual. Love those Hawaiian geese.
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful and also very rare,I love them. Keep safe Diane
DeleteI do love a full moon.
ReplyDeleteAmalia
xo
The moon is a very special thing to take photos of but I do not always get good shots!
DeleteKeep safe, Diane
The Hawaiian geese, while it appears they are not very friendly, certainly do have beautiful markings.
ReplyDeleteThey are gorgeous and it is good to see a goose that is rare around here Keep well Diane
DeleteSuch a variety of photos and all are super nice. I hope your weather is holding and you can keep taking your walks. That goat is so cute. Do they sell local goat cheese in your area?
ReplyDeleteThe weather had not been too bad but it looks like we now have a few days of rain :-( Yes they do sell local goats cheese here but I never buy it as my husband hates it! Keep safe Diane
DeleteYou live in a beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with that comment but around you is not so bad either. Brisbane was my favourite place in Australis that we have seen but we have not seen everywhere. Take care t'other Diane
