The maximum temperature here today is 10⁰C, minimum 3⁰C. Rain this morning but it has cleared a bit now with quite a lot of clouds. Wind 21km/h North-Westerly winds with gusts up to 44 km/h. We have had a very cold past week, temps went down to -5⁰C and maximums were only at 3⁰C. Far too cold for me!!

The only water birds I see around here are my two wooden Mallards.
There has not been a lot to take photos of, but I have some great shots of some of the birds seen in the last fortnight. They are all on my bird blog.

Hi Diane. Wonderful photos - I especially like the curious Blue Tit peering in at you. Those Mallard carvings are rather beautiful!
ReplyDeleteTake good care and stay safe - - - Richard
Thanks Richard, I loved the Blue Tit and I was surprised the photos came out so well with the light behind the bird. Yes, I am quite fond of those ducks, I bought them on eBay about 20 years ago for next to nothing.
DeleteKeep safe and best wishes Diane
As always, a fine series of pictures, Diane. You will no doubt hear my chuckle as I read that minus five is cold! The lambs look like the quintessential image of spring, don't they? Little do they know that soon they will be chops on someone's plate. Take good care. David
ReplyDeleteThanks David. Some of the females may make it to breeding but I guess the males will not be so lucky! Minus 5C to me is freeing!!! Cold enough for the fridge in the barn to switch of because it is colder outside the fridge than inside!! Keep safe and keep warm. Cheers Diane
DeleteHi Diane - always good to see your photos and to see a little further south in France. Your Blue Tit is a wonder to see so close ... clever eBay find: the two Mallards - they look so well crafted. Spring is on its way - cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteHi Hilary,
DeleteJust replied to this and it vanished in a cloud of smoke! I can’t find the cloud!
I love the Blue Tits, they are the only birds who come to the window and they often tap on the glass. The one on the shutter though was so funny. Yes, I am very fond of my wooden Mallards, they were a good buy.
Keep well, cheers Diane
Forgot to add that February is our coldest month so I will be happy to see spring!
DeleteThe lambs win the day but that second photo is my favourite. The lambs are early for spring! They are high on the cuteness meter though.
ReplyDeleteMarie I took a whole series of photos of the Blue Tit on the shutters, it was there for sometime and was just so funny. Keep safe Diane
DeleteI always love seeing your pics but the blue bird is great. Looks like he is looking right at you and saying, "what do you want"?
ReplyDeleteHaha I think he is saying we want more food :-)))) Keep safe Diane
DeleteStunning photos as always Diane! Happy February!
ReplyDeleteThanks Denise and Happy February to you as well. Cheers Diane
DeleteThe Eurasian blue tit and lambs are cute. Stay warm and stay safe.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nancy we are lucky to have farm and wild animals so close by. Hope all is well with you. Diane
DeleteFabulous Diane :) I hope this isn't a repeat as I thought I had already commented. However, sometimes I visit when I am using an iPad and it doesn't always publish my comment when I am using that. All the best!
ReplyDeleteSorry Denise, I think you commented just after I closed down the computer last night and we have been out most of the day. It was a good 20 hours that the computer has been off so I had not been about to check. Thanks for returning though. Take care Diane
DeleteI think those Blue tits are the cutest birds ever. And you say it's winter but still have flowers and now spring lambs.
ReplyDeleteThat really are adorable and they are the only ones that come to our window. I love seeing the lambs, they are also very cute at this age. Keep safe, hugs Diane
DeleteYou have a lot more variety of natural things to take photos of on your walk. Last time I went out it looked like things are starting to sprout but weather turned cool and dark again.
ReplyDeleteHi Penny. You are still very cold in Canada I see from David's blogs. We are never that cold, but the temperature is very up and down which totally confuses the plants in the garden. Take care and keep safe. Diane
DeleteOh, how wonderful to see the lambs.
