Maximum temperature 14C, minimum 7C. Intermittent rain and cloud.
Quite busy traffic en route and frustrating changing speed limits!
My pet hate, wind turbines! They are everywhere.
Interesting bridge near Rotterdam.
My kind of windmill.
Driving under the runway at Schipol airport. See the plane on the right.
Quiet afternoon at the hotel.
I rather like the Netherlands, especially the people. Amsterdam is lovely too although I remember it as having rather too much graffiti. I wonder if it's still the same?
ReplyDeleteHaving only arrived today we can't really viva an opinion. However we have seen quite a lot of graffiti already! Diane
DeleteI don't mind wind turbines as I think they look quite majestic and better than power stations. However, like most people I probably wouldn't want them in my back yard and can totally understand the opposition to them.
ReplyDeleteWhen we did the autoroute from Belgium through into Holland we noticed grooves in the carriageway which made for difficult driving. We were towing a caravan at the time. still it was about 20 years ago so no doubt it has been resurfaced a couple of times since!
Enjoyed your war cemeteries posts and pics. Enjoy the rest of your holiday.
Gaynor I not on!y dislike looking at the turbines, but in September last year they calculated that they were killing 300 000 birds annually which to me is a disaster. The turbines are going up so fast so the number of birds being killed must be rising as well.
DeleteThere are a lot of new roads, but the speed limit is continually changing from 80 km/h to 130 over short distances with lots of cameras. Very frustrating for all as half the time there are no speed limits showing!!!!!
We have lots of info from the cemeterys to look up for the family. Take care Diane
