Almost all photos are taken from a moving car today...
We all met at Massignac where I took no photos! This is the church at Genouillac...
we drove past the Charente lakes...
and through Lesignac...
Lesignac war memorial...
through Montemboeuf...
and past the winter wheat fields towards Chasseneuil.
The roundabout entering Chasseneuil...
and past the beautiful trees full of blossom...
where we parked at the station to have a coffee at the the cafe opposite.
We then made our way up to the Chasseneuil Resistance Memorial...
The top of the memorial....
and the view across Chasseneuil from the top of the hill.
Cowslips by the side of the road as we made our way to Roumazieres for lunch...
along a leafy lane...
and an interesting wall made from roofing tiles on entering Roumazieres.
I took many more photos of lunch, but think you have had enough blogs here recently on great luncheons making you hungry!!!!!
If tomorrow I go missing, I will be back, but we have friends coming to dinner and it depends on how quickly I get through cooking etc............
Hi Diane,
ReplyDeleteI do follow some food blogs, one is where a friend travels to different parts of the world, eats in fine restaurants, spas and hotels, and then writes posts about them, but I never tire of seeing blogs on food, so I never mind seeing your posts and photos about that!
Your photos are just gorgeous. I can see myself taking a lovely long walk and exploring all the things and places in your photos. Thank you so much for sharing. :)
It was such a beautiful day Linda but sadly tomorrow the forecast is for storms! I never tire of the old towns in our area and every time we go through a place I generally see something that I have not noticed before.
DeleteGlad to hear you are not bored with food, but it is something that seems to happen to us for several weeks and then we do not go out for ages again :-) The weekend is nearly here so have a good one Diane
Lovely drive! I'm always in awe of the beautiful old buildings!
ReplyDeleteDoniene I also am in awe of them, they never cease to amaze me. I have just been looking at a place not so far from us (worth a day visit) the Tumulus of Bougon the oldest structures of this prehistoric monument dates to 4800 BC. The mind boggles!! Have a good day Diane
DeleteGreat photos from your drive with friends. I love the open field views. I enjoy food posts and never tired of them. Have a beautiful day!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Nancy, it was a beautiful day to take photos, rare weather for March. Keep well Diane
DeleteA lovely selection that make me want to explore more of the back lanes of France.
ReplyDeleteThe back lanes are beautiful, generally people just drive past them going to the popular places!!! Keep well Diane
Delete23 degrees in March sounds like unhealthily warm to me.
ReplyDeleteHa ha, sadly it did not continue but it could be much worse! Diane
DeleteA delightful country drive.
ReplyDeleteThanks Gaelyn, glad you enjoyed it. Hope all is well Diane.
DeleteThat car must have been moving very slowly :-) Great photos.
