It had to happen - Rose day 10.
Vitrac - cars parked while we all went to scrabble in the town hall. Church in the background.
Standing on one of the bridges looking at the other. Le rivaillon river.
Some of the houses.
Houses at the back of the church.
The first house on the left is for sale.
Le Rivaillon river standing on the stone bridge which is in the 3rd photo.
Looking across the bridge to some of the houses.
Another of the houses.
This one is also for sale, but it is in the local parkland and has no grounds as such. Lots of events are held in the area!!
The barn that belongs to the commune also used for events.
Scrabble in French in the town hall.
Back home in the evening.
P.S. For those interested, Part 5 of our holiday in South Africa and Botswana is now on my other blog.
My favorite rose! Gone! Well, you have another one that color I believe. :)
ReplyDeletePretty photo's, Diane.
xoxo
It had a good life that rose and a lot of viewing :-) The second one is going to go over much quicker. Take care Diane
DeleteLove your buildings. Barns don't look much different then the homes. Very nice pics.
ReplyDeleteMany barns and homes were built the same way in the older days as there was masses of stone everywhere. The only difference being one had windows and inside rooms!! Hope you are feeling well Diane
DeleteWhat an evolution of the rose! Still it's final moments there is still beauty. I love the colours in your last shot too. Sunset and sunrise are magical times of the day.
ReplyDeleteProbably one of my longest lasting roses so I picked a good one to photograph its life history :-) I seldom see sunrise but yes it is also magical as well. Cheers Diane
DeletePoor rose. It had to happen. Beautiful pictures.
ReplyDeleteYes it did have to happen but it had a long life compared with most :-)) Cheers Diane
DeleteYour photos are brilliant, Diane! What a beautiful, enchanting town!
ReplyDeleteIt is a pretty town. I have photographed it many times, but there are always different colours etc around to make it a bit more interesting each time. Take care, Diane
DeleteLooks very quiet and peaceful. I love scrabble games. Stunning sunset!
ReplyDeleteAlways peaceful around lunch time in France :-) The French enjoy a long and relaxing meal always. Take care Diane
DeleteBeautiful photos of a charming place!
ReplyDeleteIt is a very picturesque town, lovely buildings and very quiet and peaceful. Thanks for the comment, take care Diane
DeleteScrabble in French I am impressed. :)
ReplyDeleteLOL Most of the time I have no idea what the words mean in English that I use in scrabble!! Happy days Diane
DeleteScrabble in the town hall sounds delightful Diane ☺ such a pretty town. I enjoyed the 'life of a rose' beautiful to the very end! Your sunset shot is a stunner 🎆
ReplyDeleteWe get great sunsets but since we moved the computers upstairs and no window in the right direction I miss many!! Take care Grace, Diane
DeleteI'm sure you were sad to see that beautiful rose fade, but how beautiful it is in this stage and you have so much clairity, the detail is superb. I enjoyed that pretty town with all those beautiful old buildings. I love to play scrabble but I don't speak French. The board makes a pretty picture and that sky is gorgeous. I hope you are having a super week Diane :)
ReplyDeleteDenise I also so not speak French, Nigel is the speaker around here. Despite many lessons I mam not much better than when I started out. I just work with a dictionary, but having said that so do the French players!!!! Take care Diane
DeletePoor Dear rose! It has a 'good run' thought!
ReplyDeleteLovely walk. I adore meandering water ways.
Hope that "The first house on the left" sells soon. The people in the attached house, take such good care of their property. I'm sure they will be happy, to see the other, owned and taken care of.
I looked it up on the internet to see how much they wanted out of curiosity and it is not there so I guess it will not sell easily. Both houses are with the same agents and neither of them are being advertised!!!!
DeleteCheers Diane
Your villages look so quaint but the houses are to close together for me.
ReplyDeleteWhy do you think we live out of town and on a fairly large plot of land :-)_ I have never lived in anywhere where I have been on top of the neighbour. The last house in the UK was the worst but that was only a tide over as we had already bought in France. Diane
