Maximum temperature today 6C, minimum 0C. Dry; 20 km/h North Easterly winds with up to 57 km/h gusts. Bitterly cold winds, despite blue skies, we both felt colder today than the rest of winter!!
Last night, I missed the setting sun but liked the sky anyway!
All the below were taken as drive-by shots so some are a bit blurred!
Today just leaving home...
Lopsided trees presumably because of the overhead wires
Winter wheat on both sides of the road...
The farm house in the distance...
another farm, ploughed fields, wonder what they will plant....
More winter wheat.
The small village of Taponnat-Fleurignac,....
as above
Possibly a cherry tree (some what blurred), though ours are not in flower yet, forsythia - the yellow shrub in front.
Same old supermarket slightly different view....
Heading back home past the hardware section of Leclerc, service station in the front.
Railway crossing entering Taponnat....
The new boulangerie - shut; it was lunch time !
More forsythia seen on the the way home.
Tonight's sunset. Guess by now you have noticed all my sunsets are pretty much taken from the same spot outside in the road!!
I have a new blog entirely committed to our feathered friends.
Everything looks so beautiful and peaceful.
ReplyDeleteGenerally very peaceful Pam and the small roads are fairly quiet. Hope you are feeling better. Diane
DeleteMust check the forsythia in the backyard. It always blooms early, but I am not sure if it is ready yet.
ReplyDeleteI have noticed splashes of yellow around but have not had a chance to photograph them before. Hope your is coming out. Cheers Diane
DeleteSpring has a firm grip there, Diane. Love that last shot!
ReplyDeleteThe plants seem to think so but the chilly weather has not got the same thought!! Take care Diane
DeleteYou share such beautiful photos, Diane. You're getting some green! :)
ReplyDeletexoxo
Once the winter wheat starts there is masses of green around, soon the rape will be in blossom so the other fields will be yellow. Take care Diane.
DeleteSpectacular as always.
ReplyDeleteThanks Emma. Have a good day Diane
DeleteLovely scenic drive. I'm sorry it's so cold for you as I know you are suffering from a cold. It does look like a nice Spring is on it's way to you soon. Keep warm.xx
ReplyDeleteThe weather really is very cold Penny, it is the wind that is the problem! I am pretty much over the cold, it is just the cough that will not go away!!!! Hopefully the weather will very soon change. Take care and you keep warm also. Diane
DeleteI love those days when the sky is blue but it's really chilly too. Although I guess if they went on for too long, like yours seem to be, it would get a bit uncomfortable.. we're the total opposite, it's been so hot and I too have had enough heat!
ReplyDeleteP.s. I'm trying not to get too excited but since I stopped taking blood pressure tabs, my coughing is getting less each day.. fingers crossed!
Glad to hear that your cough is on the mend, wish mine was. Really chilly is one thing but a North easterly wind that feels like it is cutting you in two is another thing. We both hate the cold though anyway, we would both rather be too hot. Look like we have had a couple of days grace but the rain will be back at the end of the week!!! Take care and keep getting better. Diane
DeleteBerta recently bought a couple forsythias which I love to see bloom and their aroma is divine. Hope that cold moves on to bring you spring.
ReplyDeleteHeavy frost again this morning, poor birds, I seem to be everlasting filling their water with fresh. Either they are overflowing from too much rain or they are frozen solid! The forsythias are a great splash of colour at present. Cheers Diane
DeleteHello Diane. Different weather conditions make the same scenery look different. The sky/sunset photos are really beautiful. It is grey and raining hard today in Durban. Take care, Kim xx
ReplyDeleteI am so fed up with so much rain, it is good to see some sun over the past couple of days though it has also brought heavy frosts! Take care and loo after yourself. Hugs Diane xx
