17/09/2018 We are back........

Maximum temperature today 31C, minimum 12C.  Dry; 15km/h South-westerly warm winds with up to 36 km/h gusts.

Just to let you know that we are back and I will visit you all as soon as I can.  Over 800 photos to go through, I will never learn!!  These are a few I took at home today before I start on the marathon!

Thank you for all the kind comments on the last post, as always appreciated.

And down came a spider and sat down beside her...
Cosmos.

Autumn daffodil/crocus (Sternbergia lutea) with bee.

As above minus bee!...

They are all over and so beautiful.

White cosmos.

Californian poppies.

Lonely little petunia.........

Comma Butterfly (Polygonia c-album).

The return of the Eurasian blue tit (Cyanistes caeruleus). A sure sign that Autumn is/has arrived we never see them in summer here.

Rub a dub dub, 6 men in a tub - House sparrow (Passer domesticus).

The common blue butterfly (Polyommatus icarus) on the sedum.

As above.

  1. what gorgeous photos! I needed a blast of sunshine today, it's dark and rainy (that part is good) here on Vancouver Island.

I LOVE California poppies, that yellow one is amazing, what a color. Nature can't be beat.

  9. Great shots! Esp the bee and spider one. Me and the furbabes are doing our morn thing on the deck...I have coffee, Lily has taken over MY chair so I am on the glider with the loudly snoring Dakota! Liliy and I are watching the red birds and hummers feed. Pretty nice right now, 71 degrees but it looks as if we will be hitting 90 again today. So ready for fall temps!

    1. I loved that shot of the bee and the spider, unusual as things like that do not happen often 😉 We had a colder day today but we have not really got too cold yet other than at night when the temps are dropping. Enjoy the firbabes you are so lucky to have them both. Take care and hope you are well. Diane

  11. Good to see you back, Diane! Beautiful flowers and all! My fave is the cosmos. I planted many of them in Louisville, KY, loved their daintiness, but for some reason they don't do as well here in Chicago area. Your bird photos are great. We have a lot of bird houses and enjoy watching them. Thanks for sharing and good luck with your 800 photos, that will be quite a job, but fun! Take care

  13. I know what you mean about never learning about photos. I keep saying to myself that I'll delete on the spot as I go along and only keep the good ones but then still have 100s to go through!

    1. I seldom have time to delete on the spot, it happens occasionally, but I cannot always see which is the best shot on the camera screen, I need to blow them up!! Cheers Diane
