Maximum temperature here today 14⁰C, minimum 3⁰C. Dry today, with a light frost this morning. 20km/h South-westerly winds with gusts up to 40 km/h.
I have managed to get out walking every day over the past week. The vegetable garden is now quieter and little work to do there, and no preserving to keep me in the kitchen. The weather has been very pleasant, not too hot or too cold with the sun shining out of a very blue sky. Of course, I still have the lockdown limitations but it is still good to get out.
Caterpillar of a Fox Moth (Macrothylacia rubi). It was on the road so I gently moved it to grass at the side. It rolled up tightly but refused to unroll for me to take further photos. I only have 1 hour allowed out at present so this was the best photo I had.
Possibly Bush Vetch (Vicia sepium ).
Mushroom, but I am not good with fungal IDs
Mid-November and a Red Admiral !! (Vanessa atalanta).
As above.
Hoverfly (Episyrphus balteatus).
Teasel or Teazel (Dipsacus).
I could not fathom out why this sign was placed on a farm track that is generally only used by tractors!
Vapour trails which we have seen very few of this year due to the lack of flights
A pair of Great Egrets or Great White Egrets, (Ardea alba),
Hey mum come and help me, I have an itch.
Man at work. Despite the lockdown they have to keep going.
Clouded yellow. Possibly (Colias crocea) but there are several of these butterflies in France which are very similar.
Moth - latticed heath (Chiasmia clathrate).
As above.
Are you looking at me?
Dandelion clock.
Well he does not have a problem with flies around his eyes 😊
My local list of wildflowers. (90 Species 23/08/2020).

You managed to collected a lot of wonderful photos within the time allowed. Ha ha I think the pony in the last photo needs a hair cut. Lol!
ReplyDeleteI just love that little pony, there are three of them all the same. Take care Diane
DeleteHi Diane - wonderful collection of photos of life around your home. I always love looking ... stay safe and enjoy the brief time outdoors ... Hilary
ReplyDeleteSaturday some restrictions lifted and I can walk within 20 kms for 3 hours, I will never go that far I do not have the time but I can walk anywhere around here then Yay. Keep well and have a good week Diane
DeleteBeautiful photos! That is one furry caterpillar!
ReplyDeleteHi and thanks for the visit and the comment, much appreciated. Yes you are right a very furry caterpillar 😊 Hope all is well over there. Take care Diane
DeleteWhat a great assortment of super sightings and images, Diane. I'm surprised by your weather. We're getting heavy frosts now and dull grey days and I've not been out since Thursday - must do better.
ReplyDeleteLatticed Heath and Clouded Yellow are making me feel quite envious!
Lockdown here ends on December 2nd, but it has been suggested that our area might go into the highest tier of restrictions after that as the lockdown does not seem to have had the desired effect locally - probably due to idiots ignoring the rules.
Take great care and stay safe - - - Richard
I am amazed that thee are still butterflies around but during the day the weather has been pretty good despite early morning frosts.
DeleteWe have a lifting of a few things this Saturday, thankfully walking and time limit is so much better but we still have to carry certificates. The next stage is only from December 15th, and this will only happen if the number of new cases keeps below 5,000. Around January 20th Macron says we will be able to take, if possible, decisions on opening up further.
Keep safe, it is the only thing we can do for the next few months. Best wishes to you and the family Diane
Such pretty photos, that brown caterpillar is fascinating! I always enjoy your nature and area photos. The calf with the itch is adorable, and the full on photo of the cow, and the horse! All the best Diane, stay safe and healthy :)
ReplyDeleteI am thankful we are in farming country it keeps me sane seeing the farm animals and the wildlife. You also keep safe. Diane
DeleteYou always find and photograph the neatest bugs and critters.

LOL I had not thought of that, great comment. Keep safe Diane
DeleteIf I am not mistaken you are now allowed to walk farther afield - so just imagine all the additional surprises waiting for you, Diane!
ReplyDeleteYou are not mistaken, as from Saturday we can be out for 3 hours and we have a 20km radius. I will never cover that distance I do not have the time, and unlikely I will reach 3 hours though I have done before. See Richards reply for further dates, Keep well and enjoy you birding trips Diane
DeleteI always enjoy the insects you capture but the cows and horses are just as wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI also love the farm animals and I am in love with that little horse. It belongs to our Dr's family and they have 3 of them but that one is my favourite. Hope your weather still stays good for a bit longer. Diane
DeleteI'm loving these delightful bits of nature! The made me smile :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic addition to 'My Corner of the World' this week!

ReplyDeleteMuchas gracias. Espero que todo esté bien en tu parte del mundo. Ten una buena semana. Diane
Delete14C gosh that's pretty chilly Diane 😱 Beautiful series of shots here today, the pony with the long fringe made me smile. Hope you are still managing to take your walks, makes all the difference if you can get a bit of exercise 💜
ReplyDeleteThat was warm compared with what it is now but so long as there is no wind I can cope! The pony is very cute. Take care Diane
DeleteThat’s a fascinating little caterpillar. You have a good heart to move it off the road. All life needs a gentle helping hand at times. Great photos as always. The last one particularly gave me a big smile. My hair will be as long before I get to the hairdressers at this rate :)
ReplyDeleteThe caterpillar is more interesting than the moth. They have four of these little ponies all with long manes and forelock but this one is my favourite. Keep safe Diane
DeleteYou always take great shots on your daily walks.
ReplyDeleteThanks Pam, te kind comment is appreciated. Stay safe Diane
DeleteLove the cute little pony but I would go crazy if my bangs were that long. 😊 I know you must be happy that you are allowed to go for longer walks and enjoy all the nature that surrounds you. Take care.
ReplyDeleteHi Karen, haha I could also not stand hair over my eyes like that, Keep well Diane
DeleteGosh, you can see just about every single hair on the fluffy body.
ReplyDeleteLove my camera it does a great job :-)) Keep well Cheers Diane
