    1. Thanks Pam, the insects are coming to an end now with the change in weather. Today I was surprised to see one lone butterfly around. Hope all is well Diane

  3. You must have infinite patience to capture the butterflies as you do. I give up too quickly. Love that lizard, Diane.

    1. Marie my husband will tell you I am the most impatient person in the world. I give the lizards a few seconds and they hopefully take a quick look to see what I am doing. Luck plays a large part of the photos. Hope you are not getting too cold over there. Diane

  4. Beautiful esp the European Peacock Butterly!!! I love that one. I don't see lizards like that around here but we have skinks. Look them up. Colorful but they move way to fast for me to catch a pic.

    1. Hi Pam, Yes I saw skinks when we were in the USA and we saw Geckos on Nevis. These guys are fast as well, I just try to move very slowly when I see them then catch them as they look up! Not always so easy. Cheers Diane

  5. Whenever I see images of the Wall Lizards I wish we had them here! They are such a wonderful part of the fauna where you live. Your pictures, as always, are sharp and clear, and you never fail to deliver a really interesting range of subjects. The Map Butterly is really gorgeous and you have captured it so well. Bonne journée, chère amie.

  6. You take great pictures of critters. Love the close up shots. This morning, I saw a butterfly fluttering from plant to plants in my garden and I waited for it to stop but it didn't. Sighhhh.......

    1. Thanks Nancy. Butterflies can be very temperamental, Often the will not land at all, or not long enough for a photo! Have a good day and keep safe, Diane

  8. Hi Diane. It's good to get to your blog after a period of no internet at all at this end!

Your wonderful shots of your local insects and lizards continue to make me feel somewhat jealous - of both the photography and the subject matter! The Map butterfly is one that I would particularly like to see.

My very best wishes to you and Nigel. Stay safe - - - - Richard

    1. Thanks so much Richard for the very kind comment. I think this is the first Map butterfly I have seen at home, I am not good at keeping records!! It has cooled down now though so very few insects around. Still many photos that I have not had time to go through and edit. We are off to Teich Bird Reserve near Arcachon next week for 3 nights so I will end up with even more photos if the weather is good. At present we are having lots of rain and it is forecast up until the day we leave!

Keep safe and have a good week. Hope your internet remains working! Best wishes to you both, Diane
