Maximum temperature today 31C, minimum 17C.  A light shower of rain this evening, I hope for the garden we may get a bit more; 9 km/h North westerly winds with up to 24 km/h gusts. 

Bastille day celebrations last night

 Not the best photos, with all the rain this year the trees seem to have grown more than ever, viewing in the field was somewhat obstructed!

As above,  I have a fairly good video but our WiFi speed will not allow me to download it!

Today France wins the World Cup Football 2018.  Fabulous result, cheers ....

15/07/2017 Last night's firework celebrations for Bastille Day.

Maximum temperature 26C, minimum 11C.   15 km/h NE winds.  Dry.

Not the best photo as I did not get the lighting right, but the children all arrive carrying lanterns before the firework display starts.

The remainder of the photos are pretty self explanatory.  They were not easy though to take as there are many trees in the area.

Hope you enjoyed the display.  Fireworks are only used on special occasions here and everyone is aware of what is happening so all pet animals can be safely shut inside.
P.S.  If there is no blog tomorrow do not be surprised.  We will be out from sparrow until late so time for photos and blogging may not happen!

15/07/2016 Bastille Day

Maximum temperature 23C, minimum 8C.  20 kph North East winds. Dry.

My thoughts and sympathies are with the innocent victims caught up in the massacre in Nice at the end of the Bastille Day fireworks display last night.   Our own local fireworks display was late starting, so this must have happened before we started our own celebrations.    Sadness, anger and solidarity all come to mind and it is hard to believe what is happening to our world today.   A bunch of cowards, who are targeting families out enjoying the day with their friends and children.

Having just returned from our holiday in the USA, where we had an amazing time, thanks to so many long-time friends and I must mention Gaelyn here (always great to meet another blogger).   We had a number of incidents while we were there including the terrorist attack that killed 49 and wounded 53 in Orlando.  We cannot live in fear, life must go on and we cannot let these terrorists win.

Blogs will only continue probably next month.  So much to do and so little time but I promise I will be back with some of the amazing photos I took while we were away, on both this blog and My Life in the Charente.
