08/05/2020 Flowers and Insects

Maximum temperature here today 23⁰C, minimum 15⁰C.  Some rain during the day not measured as yet.   14km/h South-Easterly wind with gusts up to 37 km/h. 

Sorry, far more photos than usual but I have at last caught up with April,  I can now move on to May !!

White Lilac out walking.

Violet Lilac also out walking.

Choisya ternata at home.

Wisteria out walking.

Irises at home.

Azalea - home.

Californian poppies - home.

Peony - home.

Iris-home.

Azalea -home

Mirabelle plums - home.

Cherries - home (they are now ripening but with all the rain most are split) 😞

All the following bugs are in the garden.
(Oxythyrea funesta) - chafer beetle.

(Trichodes alvearius) Family Cleridae.

Crane-fly.

Red Cabbage bug (Eurydema ornata).

Moth unknown

Caterpillar - Garden Tiger Moth (Artica caja).

Froghopper (Cercopis vulnerata).

Caterpillar of the Lackey moth (Malacosoma neustria).

As above.

Eight spotted Ladybird.

Banded Snail.

17/06/2018 Just so you know I am still around!!

Maximum temperature today 20C, minimum 11C.    Rainfall since I last registered it here, 10 mm; 15 km/h North Westerly winds with up to 35 km/h gusts.
Total rainfall since 1st January; 644 mm.  Rain still around, but it looks like next week may be better and the temperatures will climb a bit!

Bee on the cotoneaster.

Moth which I cannot identify!

Bumblebee with hoverfly and small fly.

Love in a Mist with seed pods.

Small tortoiseshell (Aglais urticae).

Soldier beetle probably Rhagonycha fulva.

Tomato flowers.

Bumblebee in the lavender.

Small white (Pieris rapae).

Common Wall Lizard (Podarcis muralis)...

As above, but you can see this one is shedding its skin....

13/06/2018 A walk in the garden.

Beefly - Bombylius species...

They fascinate me - especially the back legs 😊...

They really love the lavender...

Bumblebee on the cotoneaster...

as above.

Carnation and bud with a tiny insect.

Day Lilies

Bee Beetle (Trichius fasciatus) on the cotoneaster...

Rose Chafer (Cetonia aurata) on the cotoneaster.

Trichodes alvearius and yes, also on the cotoneaster!

Bumble bee.

Small White butterfly (Pieris rapae) on the lavender.

Californian poppy and the smallest spotted beetle ever.  I have no idea what it is!

Echeveria coming into bud. I generally get one or two flowers, but this year there are a dozen or more.

Daddy longlegs; I think it is (Pholcus phalangioides).
