22/05/2018 I had no intention of posting for a whle but........

Maximum temperature today 23C, minimum 10C.    A few odd drops only so far.  2 km/h North Easterly winds with up to 12 km/h gusts.

This fellow was in the garden this afternoon and I had to get the camera.  I have only ever photographed one dragonfly many years ago!!  Then the black redstart showed its face!!!

I believe this dragonfly to be a Broad-bodied Chaser but I am happy to be corrected as I know nothing about dragonflies!  Note the damage to the left upper wing.....

and this is the same dragonfly.

Then this one appeared which I thought was the same dragonfly.  Only when I saw the photos did I realise the wing on this one was not damaged! ...

As above.

As above.

Black Redstart (Phoenicurus ochruros)

In the grubby water around the weeping willow that I had just topped up.....

Wonder why this is better than the clean water in the bird bath!....

As above...

Maybe this sparrow is thinking along the same lines!

A very pale Love in the Mist. (Nigella)

Tonight's storm passing us by.  We could have done with some rain with all the seeds I have planted!

N.B. My new bird blog is updated  HERE

15/09/2017 I have been busy all day so a few photos this evening of a thundery sky.

Maximum temperature 17C,  minimum 10C.  7 km/h cold NE wind with 18 km/h gusts. No rain overnight, but it has been raining on and off during the day and it was quite noisy with thunder around 19h30 when I took these photos.

I walked around outside so these photos are taken from various places around our house before it started raining here.
Looking down the road, the sun is setting on the left and it is raining on the right.

As above but a little closer.

Walking backwards up the road I managed a slightly wider view.

Further over to the left.

Our house (green shutters) on the left in this shot, with a neighbour (red shutters) on the right.

In the back garden looking over the pampas.

Similar view to the above
All these photos were taken over a matter of only a few minutes.

Mushroom in the lawn.

and my favourite rose.

21/02/2014. Not a good day for photos, this is the best I could do en route to my French lesson!

Maximum temperature 10C.  We had hail this morning and rain on and off all day.  4 mm measured this morning.
