14/04/2020 Flowers in the garden at present, some wild others planted.

Maximum temperature here today 18⁰C, minimum 8⁰C (but felt like 3⁰C !). Dry today but 4 mms rain Sunday night.  23km/h North-easterly icy cold wind with gusts up to 51 km/h. 

Wallflowers.


Vinca


Calendula.


Lawn Daisy and wild violets.


Orange poppies.


Flag Iris.


Apple blossom.


Ground ivy, a weed but I think the little flowers are very cute.


Quince blossom.


Spanish bluebells.


A single flowering peony.


Wild bluebells.


Black tulips.


Violas.


Californian poppy.


Gorse.


No flowers but little figs appearing.

11/04/2018 Still trying to catch up!!

Maximum temperature today 16C, minimum 9C.   8 mm of rain measured over the last two days; 17 km/h North Easterly winds with up to 37 km/h gusts.
Total rainfall so far this year now 430 mm.

Tulips taken two days ago...

Cherry blossom but no bees...

Wild violets...

White (blue) bells,

Vinca blue..

and purple...

Lawn daisy with a mini-hopper...

Flowers on the laurel.

Yesterday we had an appointment in Angouleme, this was just leaving home...

Poor guys were working on the road in the rain!

Later in the day, we saw this 2CV in the local car park...

As above, a typical French icon.

13/06/2017 Just in the garden again!

Maximum temperature 29C, minimum 12C. 13 kmh SE wind.  Dry, but rain forecast for later.  Lots of thunder around.
Large yellow rest harrow (I think).

Meadow brown (Maniola jurtina)

We seem to be over run with the Common red soldier beetle (Rhagonycha fulva)...

Wasp.

The rose is still looking fabulous.

Vinca - we also have one with a variegated leaf but the flowers are over on it.

Tomato flowers.

Potato plants in flower.

Next doors pumpkin plants, ours are a few weeks behind these, I planted late!

05/04/2017 Quite chilly wind in the garden today and not a lot going on!

Maximum temperature 15C, minimum 4C.  28 kmh NE wind with 38 kmh gusts.   5 mm rain measured this morning
Too cold for the tulips again today!

Apple blossom just starting.

The only insect I saw, a bumble bee in the distance.

White bells.

A male blackbird also not very close.

Variegated vinca.

Figs.

The choisya ternata again, but it is looking so great at the moment.

Another tulip in bud.
