  1. When we lived in the Charente, we found that Lidl had the best prices and quality for whole chickens which could be quite pricey at the supermarkets. Lidl were also quite good at Australian and RSA wines if you fancied a change away from the French varieties.

    1. Craig we are both S.A. wine fans having lived there for so long. I can still only really enjoy S.A. reds but I have found that ones from the Rhone I can drink. Lidl also imports a really nice Californian rose. We shop there quite often, but the problem is you always have to go somewhere else to finish off the shopping list. Bonne journée, Diane

  2. Agreed... I'm a big fan of Cote du Rhone wines. I like Pinotage too from RSA. For rose's I rather like a crisp dry Provence rose for those Scottish hot summer days (both of them)!

    1. I like pretty much all RSA wines, though there is the odd exception. Guess because I was brought up on them:-) I do not generally drink rose, but the Californian one got me hooked, and of course cheap from Lidl! I will try a Provence rose now you have mentioned it, thanks. Diane
