13/05/2016 Still raining!!!!

Maximum temperature 17C, minimum  10C.   35 km/h SW winds. 3mm of rain measured but we are having continuous drizzle.
Collected my new wide angle lens today very exciting. As you can see the tiling is still under cover!

Drizzle on the windscreen!

A trip to the dechetterie (dump).

I will never get used to post and telephone boxes not in red!

Bee on the borage - again.

Choisya ternata.

Must have been some pollination going on as I see we have baby granny smith apples :-)

Even the snail is in his house out of the rain!

Snapdragon.

Sweet William.

  3. Beautiful photos as always Diane. I especially like seeing raindrops of flower petals. Congratulations on having a new lens to play with ;-)

Thank you for your concern about my safety. I am fine. I live about 12-16 hours drive south of the location of the fires. It's amazing the devastation in the province next door. It looks like the city of Fort McMurray has been decimated. So far the other towns in my home area are fine. The Red Cross and others here are all pulling together to help the people and it is always amazing how generous people can be here at times like this. The people of the north are also very resilient and they are handling everything very well. It was under a decade ago that a city closer to me (about 5 hours north) was also ablaze. The images of burning hills is still etched in my memory. No pun intended.

    1. Thanks Penny for letting me know that you are safe, such terrible news though and such a lot to recover from after it is all over. I can only imagine how dreadful it is to lose everything you own.

Glad to hear that you are well, hope that it stays that way. Have a good weekend Diane
