24/07/2017 A few quick shots in the morning, we have been in Angouleme all afternoon and nowhere where I could take photos!

Maximum temperature 24C, minimum 15C.   24 km/h NW winds with 39 km/h gusts. 13 mm rain measured this morning.
Calendula and bee.

Gatekeeper female -she seems to have a little wing damage....

A different Gatekeeper female....

and a male.

A Shield bug that I cannot identify further!

Bee in a pumpkin flower.

Choisya ternata flowering for the second time this year.

Echeveria....

And the second Echeveria flower that I have had this year

Hydrangea.

Finally in the veg garden - Haricot beans in the front, chard left back, carrots far right back and if you look carefully, you can see the fern from the fennel between the carrots and haricot....

Spring onions in the front and more carrots behind....

and under all this green are some excellent parsnips.

Sunflowers by the side of the road en route to Angouleme.

  1. Every time I visit your page I want to grab my camera and set out to photograph! But....to stinking hot out there so The KING, Lily and I are hiding in the house. Yesterday our temps were 98 with a feels like of 110. Today is supposed to be better but I refuse to venture out to see until the sun starts to go down.

  5. Lovely shots as usual. Love the bee in the pumpkin. What a fabulous vegie garden you have. What do you do with them all other than eat them and store them. Surely there are too many for you.

    1. Everyone grows there own veggies here except one neighbour who I give some from time to time. Otherwise the are all used one way or another. Dehydrated, frozen, soup...... we never need to buy vegetables during winter. This year the potatoes lasted right through with good storage and we were only a couple of weeks without before I started digging them up here again. We have sweet potatoes as well. T'other Diane

  6. It's amazing how much wing damage butterflies can suffer and still fly.
